Eric ebron is a 6'4 245 lb TE/DE for the UNC Tar Heels he is currently a junior & is a player the the jaguars should ret targeting in the draft should he declare. I'm no pro at scouting or anything like that but I think his ceiling is as high as aaron Hernandez as a tight end I see a lot of familiar characteristics physically & in their games. Hernandez had far better hands though.
Versatility: Although I could only find three videos of film on him i've seen al the things you could want in a tight end. When he squares up he is a punishing blocker and he shows that vs nc state. His technique needs to be more consistent as he tends to chase on some of his blocks. He is elusive and shows big play ability. He's not as big as your typical tight end but he can flex out and he runs decent routes creating mismatches on offense. Another testament to his versality was shown against nc state with them being short on their d-line he lines up at defensive end & actually provides a decent pass rush.
4:32 is when he moves to DE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8ak0nS3HdM
Elusiveness: He's by no means a burner but he uses his size to his advantage. He can get skinny when running seam routes down the middle of the field he can use his frame to also shield the ball from defenders. He can go up & get it he just needs to be more consistent with his hands. Another weapon in his repertoire is his stiff arm he unleashes it regularly to shed tacklers. He shows good body control to dodge defenders & to score.
With better play from his qb Bryn renner I think he can dethrone austin sefarian jenkins as the top tight end.
He makes a great play on his first catch against maryland. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JUeEkI2X5I
This is his best overall game against miami. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4w3-rEZT1ws
