Am I the Only One?

Today I got the same email that many of you got from the Jaguars announcing the new NFL "safety" policy. The policy states that bags cannot be brought into stadiums, but they will "allow" (in their great kindness) fans to bring a one gallon, transparent bag to the game. When did the NFL become the TSA?? Am I the only one who hates the fact that every aspect of our lives, now including our beloved football games, is becoming one vast quest for some kind of "security?" Do we really want to take airport security and copy it for NFL games? The cynical side of me says this is a good way to cut down on extra food and beverages being brought in, but do it under the name of "security." Sigh. Sorry for the rant. I sent a nice email to the Jaguars expressing my concern, and their response was that season ticket holders would be getting a free clear bag from the team. Um, ok. That's not the point, to me. I don't even bring bags to the game. I just hate the fact that these games are going to feel- just a little- like going through airport security. I'm a proud season ticket holder, but at what point is it just easier to watch from home, you know? Anyway, that's my rant. Please don't take this as a political post. This is about game day experience and not a Republican or Democrat thing. :/
