Jaguars vs. Jets injury report 2013: Cecil Shorts, Luke Joeckel sit out

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

The Jaguars still have a couple of nagging injuries to begin the week leading up to preseason Game 2.

The Jacksonville Jaguars left Friday evenings game without any major injuries, but with Ryan Davis suffering a possible concussion and Russell Allen spraining his ankle. The team still has a few players with some nagging stuff, but overall are relatively healthy.

Jaguars injury report for Monday's practice:

WR Cecil Shorts III (calf)
CB Jeremy Harris (back)
DT Brandon Deaderick (groin)
LT Luke Joeckel (hip flexor)
LB Russell Allen (bone bruise)
TE Isaiah Stanback (?)

Shorts sitting out again has caused a bit of worry on Twitter, but personally I think the team is just being careful with their best wide receiver and there is no real need to push him and risk further aggravating the injury. Deaderick once again sat out with a groin issue, but again is probably nothing major.

Joeckel was on the bike at practice apparently, but his injury is considered to be minor.

Defensive end Jeremy Mincey has been cleared of his concussion and returned to practice, as did Justin Blackmon and Jonathan Cyprien.
