Marcedes Lewis injury: Jaguars TE misses practice

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis misses practice on Tuesday with a calf injury.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have held veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis out of practice on Tuesday morning with a calf injury. Lewis tweaked his calf prior to the start of the Jaguars game against the New York Jets on Saturday during pre-game warm up and as a precaution was held out of the game.

The team has decided to sit Lewis out of practice on Monday, likely as a precautionary measure, as team team has show the tendency to hold players out thus far.

Lewis, 29, is the team's clear top tight end for the 2013 season so they're not going to want push him when it's unnecessary.
