NFL roster cuts 2013: Jaguars release 13 players, including Jeremy Cain, Paul Hazel

Logan Bowles - Void Magazine

The Jacksonville Jaguars have cut their roster from 88 players to 75 players.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have cut down their roster to 75 players, prior to the cutdown deadline on Tuesday afternoon. The team released 13 players on Sunday, bringing their roster from 88 to 75, but no real big names were gone in the first wave of cuts.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the cuts was long snapper Jeremy Cain, who's been with the Jaguars since 2009, but the team signed two long snappers this offseason so the writing was definitely on the wall. Cain, 33, simply made too much in base salary ($1 million) to carry on the final roster. It's about the same time Joe Zelenka was released in favor of Cain, who is now being replaced by undrafted rookie Carson Tinker.

The team released the following players: Jeremy Cain, Luke Ingram, Ken Parrish, Mark Asper, Lionel Smith, Maalik Bomar, Jeremiah Green, J.D. Griggs, Paul Hazel, Jamal Miles, Ray Polk and Roderick Tomlin.

The team also placed rookie Jeremy Harris on injured reserve.
