The Jacksonville Jaguars finally earned a tally in the win column during the 2013 preseason by defeating the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night, 20-16.
In the first half, the Jaguars managed to build a 10-0 lead on the back of a strong performance from the first-team defense. It wasn't until late in the second quarter that the Falcons were able to get on the scoreboard, but a 16-3 run for Atlanta put the home team in front in the third quarter.
A fourth quarter touchdown and a pair of late defensive stands in the Jaguars territory preserved the victory and ended the preseason for the Jaguars with a 1-3 record.
Standing out for the Jaguars was again Jordan Todman, who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on nine carries, as well as LaRoy Reynolds, who started at middle linebacker for Paul Posluszny and stayed in for the majority of the defensive snaps.
Struggling for the Jaguars were the usual suspects, including quarterback Mike Kafka, who completed 6-of-15 passes and threw multiple passes that sailed over the heads of every player offensive and defensive.
