Jaguars finish preseason with win over Atlanta | jacksonville.com
ATLANTA | And now they wait. For the Jaguars’ projected starters and a handful of backups, they must wait nine days for the Sept. 8 lid-lifter against Kansas City. For the majority of the roster who played the majority of Thursday night’s 20-16 win over the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome, the wait will be stressful.
Out of the Locker Room: Bradley liked overcoming adversity
Gus Bradley got his first victory as an NFL head coach Thursday. And while that wasn’t a huge post-game topic in the wake of the Jaguars’ victory 20-16 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in the 2013 preseason finale Thursday at the Georgia Dome, there was some significance to the final score. The idea is to win – whether it’s preseason or not. And with the regular season 10 days away, winning on Thursday . . . well, it was better than the alternative, and the fact that the Jaguars overcame some early mistakes to do it?
NFL changes Jaguars abbreviation from JAC to JAX
The NFL has always had trouble with elementary school topics. Ignoring the fact that they needed a map prior to the division realignment (St. Louis Rams still in NFC West?!), they apparently had issues with spelling abbreviations. When the Jacksonville Jaguars entered the league in 1995, they were given the JAC abbreviation. Nearly two decades later, after constant pissing and moaning from hardcore Jaguar fans, the NFL has made the proper change and altered the abbreviation from JAC to JAX.
