The Jacksonville Jaguars will likely be underdogs in every game this season, unless a light bulb comes on and they start playing really well and winning ball games. It's no different as they head to the west coast to take on the Oakland Raiders, where they've opened up as 4-point underdogs.
Some books have seen the line crawl to +6.5 as money is coming in on the Raiders to cover.
Here's what OddsShark had to say about the game:
OddsShark Staff - After nearly pulling an upset as a double-digit underdog, the Oakland Raiders head home to take on maybe the worst team in football at the moment, the Jacksonville Jaguars, at the O.co Coliseum Sunday afternoon (4:25 pm ET, CBS). In the early betting the Raiders, who gave up a late score in losing their season opener at Indianapolis 21-17, were favored by six points over the Jags, who just got held to a safety in losing their season opener to Kansas City. The Jaguars are 5-0 ATS vs the Raiders since 1997 and they face an Oakland team that is a woeful 4-15-1 ATS in their past 20 games as favorite. The Jaguars have been lame dogs, going 2-16 SU the past 18 games in this role. They must be bad to be 5.5-point dogs to a terrible Oakland team.
The over/under for the game opened at 41, which I think is about right for these two teams. I'm not ready to buy into Terrelle Pryor yet as a quarterback and I don't think the Jaguars offense is nearly as awful as it appeared on Sunday. I do think it will be a close game, however.
