i was enjoying an arrogant bastard at the pierview pub when jamal charles showed up on nfl network clips and the transcript read words to the effect that "one guy stood you up and the other guy tried to strip it."
so it didn't work so great sunday. maybe it won't be won't work all that great this sunday in oakland. i'll be surprised if it does, considering the youth and inexperience of the defensive backfield. i don't know whom the jags play the sixth game of the season (sf? that might be a bad test), but i bet they're a bit more proficient at it by then. and better yet by season's end.
i thought it was interesting that after the first game of the season in a game in which the jags lost 28-2 that a pretty exceptional running back made those comments as his evaluation of the jags' defense. i'm very interested to watch the growth.
gus and rex
g: basically "great. that's what i'd expect any nfl qb to say. we like chad."
r: basically "that's his opinion, not ours"
lastly, i heard a short clip of gus talking to fisch during the kc game. i don't know what the score was. gus, basically: "ah, don't worry about the score. let's see what these guys can do."
this is going to be a good ride, gentleman.
