Response to Chadd Scott about concussions from a man serving in the military. Incredible story.

A powerful military story on concussions in response to Chadd Scott by Taylor Rogal aka @Chai_Dinar on twitter. Here are his tweets to Chadd: Hey Chad Scott I know you're watching a movie but I wanted to chat with you for a minute. I'm not going to call you an asshole.I'm not going to call your dick small, I'm not even going to tell you that you suck at your job. Nope, instead I'm going to tell you something you don't know. I'm going to educate you on brain injuries since you think it's something to joke about. I got back from this little place called Afghanistan a couple months ago. It's shitty. Not shitty like the type of person you are, but shitty nonetheless. My last day in country, we were attacked. Attacked by an Afghan wearing an ANA uniform. He jumped a fence, shot my troop as he exited a porta potty, and luckily shot him in the Kevlar so he at least still has his life. Blood trickled from his ears. I called to him, but he couldn't hear me. He kept saying "what's going on sarge, where are we sarge? I tried to calm him down but he couldn't hear me. He was a scared young kid who has just been shot in the head. I immediately took him to a waiting MRAP and rushed him to our Role II. He had suffered a concussion. He had a brain injury. He was 20 years old, fighting for the freedoms that you take for granted and as he walked out after taking a piss, his life immediately changed in the blink of an eye. You joke about something you evidently have never experienced. It might be funny to you to joke about an ex NFL player who may have suffered such an injury, but I don't find it funny. I've suffered 8 concussions in my life, and I consider myself lucky. I have friends who have permanent damage and who will never again be the same. I'll leave you with a little education, since you seem to be lacking somewhat in that area. Exposures to blasts are a leading cause of TBI among active duty military personnel in war zones. In a recent NFL study, risk for death from Alzheimer's disease and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis were about four times higher among NFL players. Sure, you don't know me from Adam. You can even block me and pretend I don't exist. I just ask that the next time you're ignorant, that you think about what you're saying and think about the ramifications of that statement. Think about that 19 year old kid sleeping in a fox hole while the skies openly piss on him and he does it because he loves this country. He loves the guy that abuses his First Amendment and all it stands for. Thanks for your time.
