Quarterbacks, Quarterbacks, and (You Guessed It) QUARTERBACKS!

JaguarsAndMagpies again, and if you watched the Jaguars this season, it was ravaged by injuries, questions about Maurice Jones-Drew, Justin Blackmon and his alcohol issues, and (wait for it...) inconsistent quarterback play. If you look back into Jaguar history the two most consistent quarterbacks would have to be Mark Brunell and David Garrard. That is not a fantastic list of quarterbacks to a lot of the rest of the league unless you're the Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, and the Detroit Lions. If you're a Jaguar fan you want a quarterback right now and according to CBSSports.com there are 50 49 draft eligible quarterbacks on this 2014 NFL Draft worth looking at and here is the list:

- Teddy Bridgewater LOUISVILLE

- Johnny Manziel TEXAS A&M

- Zach Mettenberger LSU

- Tajh Boyd CLEMSON

- Aaron Murray GEORGIA

- Braxton Miller OHIO STATE

- Connor Shaw SOUTH CAROLINA

Now obviously, there are the guys everybody labels as the leaders of the draft class (Bridgewater, Manziel, Bortles) to the high-name "Tebow-esque" type quarterbacks (Jordan Lynch and Taylor Martinez). Now obviously, fans will be looking at the top 3 quarterbacks on the list just as the "Big Boy" Media would at ESPN, Fox Sports, and CBS Sports would but the question is "Is there a guy worth taking with the 3 Overall Pick?" If you ask me only two guys pop into mind, in my opinion, Teddy Bridgewater and the "Anti-Tebow" himself, Johnny Manziel. Now the "experts" say that the Texans are no doubt taking Teddy Bridgewater IF they keep the pick, as rumors are spreading that the Texans are going to listen to trade offers for the 1 Overall Pick. Hypothetically, if the Jags skip on a quarterback in the first round to take guys like Jadeveon Clowney or Sammy Watkins, who do we look to? There are five guys on that current list to look at in the later rounds if the Jags skip a quarterback in Round 1 that I would like to have on this team, they are:

- Zach Mettenberger LSU

- Aaron Murray GEORGIA

- Jimmy Garoppolo EASTERN ILLINOIS

- Connor Shaw SOUTH CAROLINA

- Stephen Morris MIAMI (FL)

Mettenberger can easily be linked to Ben Roethlisberger with size, arm, speed, and ability to take a hit. Unfortunately, he has a torn ACL right now, but he can be a player if he can stay healthy.

Murray has played against SEC defenses for 4 years and holds that ability to be composed in the pocket and can extend plays in the pocket when necessary, but like Mettenberger, has a torn ACL, as well.

Garoppolo is a big wild-card in the draft as he hails from the same university as Tony Romo. He shows a great arm and can put deep passes in with accuracy and touch with the ability to get out of the pocket, as well.

Connor Shaw has been in Steve Spurrier's offense for a while now as he graduates this year and I like him as well. Composure and nice touch in his passes can help this Jaguar team if he can stay healthy on the field.

Stephen Morris' stock has fallen over the last year but was affected by an ankle injury the entire year. He has a big arm with the size and mobility you want in a quarterback and he worked with Jedd Fisch at the University of Miami before coming over to the Jaguars in the last offseason.

So there you have it, quarterback mania this year in the 2014 NFL Draft this year that will prove to be another interesting one. In May, the Jags will most likely add another quarterback to the roster to fight for the starting job in the 2014-2015 season.
