2014 NFL Draft: Which QB is best fit for the Jaguars?

Brad Barr-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars will likely consider a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick, but which one fits the team the best?

It's possible the Jacksonville Jaguars draft a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick. It's also possible they wait until the second or third-round to take a signal caller, but it appears they will draft one at some point in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The big question is which one will Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell and head coach Gus Bradley target?

CBS Sports Rob Rang has gone through and given his opinion on who he thinks is the "best fit" for each team in need of a quarterback.

No. 3: Jacksonville Jaguars

Best fit: Bridgewater

From both a schematic and pro-readiness standpoint, Bridgewater would be a strong match with the Jaguars, whose offense is built around a short to intermediate passing attack and play action. Though the Jaguars tied for 31st in the NFL with just 16 touchdown passes last season under head coach Gus Bradley and offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch, this isn't a team bereft of talent.

Wide receiver Justin Blackmon has the frame and physicality to emerge as a legitimate No. 1 target if he can remain focused on the field. While veteran Cecil Shorts and youngsters Ace Sanders and Denard Robinson are quicker than fast, both have playmaking ability that an accurate quarterback can exploit.

He lists both Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel as "good fits" as well, but really any new quarterback for the Jaguars would probably be a good fit.

Hilariously enough Rang also lists a "poor fit" for each NFL team and for the Jaguars it included both Chad Henne AND Blaine Gabbert, to which I would wholeheartedly agree. We, and they, know what both of those guys are and it doesn't help you much to continue down that road.
