Clowney, to no one's surprise, said he would have been at the combine and drafted last year if NFL rules had permitted it. Now because of the needs of both the Jaguars and the Chiefs last year, I doubt the Chiefs take him #1. Granted this is a hypothetical because Houston and Hali had monster years this year but were still Pro-Bowl caliber players.
So at #2 the Jaguars would have had their shot at Clowney. Do you think they would have drafted him over Joeckel? I wholeheartedly do. If that had happened, I doubt Monroe is shipped off; maybe franchised instead. So the Jaguars this year sitting at #3, QB is a no-brainer and it seems Bridgewater is the likely guy, provided he's available.
Who would you rather have, Joeckel and the picks from Monroe or Clowney and Monroe, prior to the #3 selection of the draft? Like I said, I'd have to go with trying to resign Monroe and drafting Clowney. What are your thoughts?
