Rob Johnson, out of Southern California, was actually a teammate to Tony Boselli and Keyshawn Johnson. A fourth-rounder, he is one of five quarterbacks ever drafted by the Jaguars. The other four (Jonathan Quinn, Gabbert, Garrard and Leftwich) were drafted in the 3rd/1st/4th/1st.
Statistically, he was OK for the Jaguars. Playing in only 8 games (starting one in 1997, no passes thrown in two 1996 appearences); he went 25 for 35, 368yds, 2tds, 3ints...he ran 13for51 and 1td. Truth be told, that seems acceptable for a 4th rder. He went on to a pretty good career with the Bills and etc, managing to get a ring on the '02 Bucs like McCardell did.
The best thing is he was traded for a 1st and a 4th....
That 1st that year we all know very well (Fred!!), he also was turned into Tavian Banks....A sad story of a lost career, I remember that game in '99 when he destroyed his knee in Atlanta on that Astroturf... :(
