Like 90+% of the United States, my bracket was absolutely devastated, Dayton won (there goes my billion), Harvard won (those smart sunuva guns), and to top it all, four games went to overtime, FOUR! And it was only the first day, the FIRST! Well, as everybody burns their brackets, I come back here to Big Cat Country to talk about my first sports passion, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now, with the unexpected high-frequency moves by David Caldwell and Co. really took the league, at least Jaguars fans, by surprise by taking guys like Zane Beadles, Red Bryant, Chris Clemons, Ziggy Hood, and what I think will be the underrated move of the 2014 FA period, Toby Gerhart. Now, the Jaguars' Cap Room dwindled from $50,000,000+ to around $25,000,000. I'm completely okay with the fact we still are top five in salary, but the Jaguars need to make these moves count so we do not need to worry about dead money and Cap Casualties, in the likes of the Shack Harris and the Gene Smith eras (*cough cough* Jerry Porter, Dennis Northcutt, Troy Williamson, Laurent Robinson, to name a few).
Now what's next? Oh yeah, the 2014 NFL Draft. Well, I think a mock draft would be necessary, but I'm not going to do that right now. Well, I guess I'll touch on that briefly. My top 3 picks right now are the Texans taking Blake Bortles, the Rams taking Greg Robinson, and the Jags taking Jadeveon Clowney. I also predict Teddy Bridgewater to take an Aaron Rodgers/Brady Quinn type free-fall, how's that for putting the bold in the Bold City (like predicting Gus Bradley's Alma Mater North Dakota State to the Sweet 16, as I proposed)?
Well, that's my view on the Jags right now, and I hope you enjoyed this and I would love to hear your guys' Jags opinions in the comments below and I hope you all have a wonderful Friday.
