The results of the 2014 annual Hungarian Mock Draft Game (7 rounds)

Like in the past 4 years, the Hungarian football loving cumminty held it's annual 7 round Mock Draft this Saturday. Like in the previous 4 events I represented the Jaguars, and here are my 11 picks.

1/3 Jacksonville Jaguars Jadeveon Clowney, DE (South Carolina) - Probably the best player of the draft. The new face of the franchise in the U. S. his selection is a no brainer.

2/7 Jacksonville Jaguars Timmy Jernigan, DT (Florida State) - A local product, who is considered as a lock in the 1st round. Since we can't have enough good defensive linemen, his presence would mean a nice boost in the middle. Jernigan, Marks, Roy Miller and Ziggy Hood would be a pretty effective DT rotation. And a very bad news for the opposing teams interior offensive lines.

3/6 Jacksonville Jaguars Jimmy Garoppolo, QB (Eastern Illinois) - Yes, Mettenberger too was available in this mock, and I started to like the idea of his pickup. But I consider Garropolo the better prospect and quite frankly as a project more then the real solution. But he is good enough to give a fierce competition to Chad Henne. Also he was sensational even against Northern Illinios last year, has a really quick release and could be the next best FCS QB in the NFL since Joe Flacco, and Tony Romo, who by the way also a product of the EIU program.

4/5 Jacksonville Jaguars Billy Turner, OL (North Dakota State) - Like Jimmy Garropolo, Billy Turner was the best in his position in the FCS, and not just last year. He anchored the dominant North Dakota State offensive line, which won 3 National Championship titles. Draft experts says he can play guard too, and maybe it would be better to start his pro career at RG. Later he could challenge Austin Pasztor for the starting RT position as well.

4/14 Jacksonville Jaguars (from Baltimore) Lache Seastrunk, RB (Baylor) - The Jaguars expect rightfully so much from their new starter, Toby Gerhart in the position. Also Jordan Todman showed, that he is dependable, when the Jaguars asked him to contribute majorly. But what if something happens with any of them? Can Denard Robinson be develope into a servicable backup? Of course, but iI say they should bring in a back, who can challenge Denard (and Todman) in the Nr. 2 back position. Seastrunk is perfect for that.

5/4 Jacksonville Jaguars Mike Davis, WR (Texas) - Mike Davis was one of the receivers who played under Gus Bradley and the Jaguars coaching staff during the Seniorbowl. Wide receiver coach Jerry Sullivan seems to liked him during the week in Mobile, so why not give him a shot to compete for a spot on the roster?

5/10 Jacksonville Jaguars (from Detroit) Crockett Gilmore, TE (Colorado State) - Gilmore Crockett was a late entry in the Seniorbowl because of an injury, but he made his presence felt in the short time he spent in Mobile. He had a very good game in the Seniorbowl(scored the first TD for the South team). And behind Marcedes is only Clay Harbor who is coming back from injury, so the Jags can really add some depth to the position.

5/19 Jacksonville Jaguars (from Baltimore) Michael Sam, DE (Missouri) - Another nationwide known player coming in the 5th round to Jacksonville. I think Sam will train and play his tail off to show, that he belongs to this league. Add Gus Bradley and his motivation into the mix and you know Sam will max out his performance on the field. If he turns out to be a succesfuul story, that would be a very nice press towards a team who really needs it. And as Guys Bradley pointed out, you can't have enough rushman on your team.

6/3 Jacksonville Jaguars Kevin Norwood, WR (Alabama) - Another receiver from the Seniorbowl. His 6' 2" height would be a nice big target on the field. Right now only returner specialst Tandon Doss and Stephen Williams is either 6'2" tall or bigger. I think getting more bigger targets would be more then welcome by the the front office.

6/29 Jacksonville Jaguars (from San Francisco) Corey Linsley, C (Ohio State) - When I made this pick, I didn't heard about the possible Alex Mack negotiations. If Mack signs here, this pick could be spent on a LB or a FS. But if not, then Mike Brewster could get his successor at Ohio State as a competetion for the center position in the NFL. That would be one interesting and intriguing battle to watch.

7/7 Jacksonville Jaguars Matt Hazel, WR (Coastal Carolina) - Finally another receiver. I hesitated between him and Erik Lora (the go to receiver for Garropolo at Eastern Illinois) but I decided to pick Hazel because he (and RB Lorendzo Taliaferro) were the most dangerous weapons of a very powerful Coastal Carolina offense which ranked in the Top 5 in the FCS. He was a very reliable receiver for the Chanticleers, and if he can to the same again in the Jaguars founded a nice contributor in the last round. He might need to add a little size on him though.

So there are my picks. I know there some questionable moves in it (Garoppolo over Mettenberger, Michael Sam, 3 WRs but no LBs), but I wanted an offensive heavy draft mixed with a couple possible playmakers on defense. Feel free to comment or be critical with my picks. As always I'm open to any kind of debate about this.
