SB Nation 2014 NFL Draft

With the No. 222 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars have picked Central Florida running back Storm Johnson. With the Jaguars, Johnson will be reunited with Blake Bortles, whom he played with on the Fiesta Bowl-winning Knights in 2013.

The running back position is in transition for the Jaguars as either Fred Taylor or Maurice Jones-Drew have been in the Jacksonville backfield since the turn of the century. While the team added Toby Gerhart in free agency and added Denard Robinson in the 2013 NFL Draft, there is still some room for added talent.

At 6'0, 209, Johnson was a tank of a running back at UCF, accumulating 1,139 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground in 2013, in addition to 260 yards receiving and three touchdown receptions. Following an upset victory in the Fiesta Bowl, Johnson announced his intention to declare for the 2014 NFL Draft and forego his senior season.

With the Jaguars, Johnson will have to compete with Jordan Todman and Robinson for time, or even a spot on the roster, as seventh-round rookies are far from guaranteed a spot.
