Blaine Gabbert injury: Jaguars QB will try to play through pain

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert reportedly has a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder, but plans to try to play through the injury if doctos allow him, according to a report by Pro Football Talk.

Gabbert's shoulder was injured after he went down on his arm ducking under a tackle on what wound up being an offsides call against the Oakland Raiders. Gabbert stayed in the game and attempted two more passes on the drive, both to Cecil Shorts III, but both were incomplete. On the sideline Gabbert was grimacing as the trainers worked on his shoulder, but he came back into the game for the next drive.

Gabbert played two more drives in the game before Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey finally pulled him out of the game to avoid risking further injury.

It was arguably Gabbert's best start to a game of the season outside of Week 1, so if he can play on Sunday through the pain, it could go a long was in shedding the ridiculous "not tough" label he's gotten.
