Cary Emondson-US PRESSWIRE

Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew will be out against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew is dealing with a foot injury and will not play against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football. Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey made the announcement at his Monday afternoon press conference, but noted that he did not think the injury would be season ending.

Jones-Drew injured his foot on the first offensive snap against the game against the Oakland Raiders and has missed the past two weeks. Jones-Drew is likely to be out a few more weeks, but at this point it's not feared to be a season ending injury.

Without Jones-Drew the Jaguars offense has been up and down, but better in the passing game, mostly because the team has been forced to pass the football. In two starts in place of Jones-Drew, Rashad Jennings has struggled running the ball, but has picked up some tough yards against stacked fronts, forcing the Jaguars to throw the football.

One should expect more of the same against the Colts on Thursday.
