Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Daryl Smith will miss Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will once again be short handed at the linebacker position when they travel to Lambeau Field on Sunday to take on the Green Bay Packers. The Jaguars star linebacker had missed the first five games of the season with a groin injury he suffered in training camp and tried to come back against the Oakland Raiders.

Smith practiced on Wednesday last week, but subsequently finished out the final two days of practice not on the field and was ruled out for the game against the Raiders. Smith originally suffered a setback early in the season trying to come back and it sounds like he might have suffered another one last week.

When asked if Smith had been in the injured reserve discussion, Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey responded by saying they're investigating on why he's not recovering quicker than he has been.

It's an important season for Smith, as he's in the final year of his contract.
