Great article on why Jimmy Clausen should be the number one quarterback in the draft, and a top ten selection. This guy covers all bases.

Proud to Be a Jaguar

You know, im from Texas. Here in Texas theres 3 rules. You gotta be country, you gotta love football, and you gotta love the Dallas Cowboys. Im the only person in my big family of 65 people that isnt a Cowboy fan. Ever since i was a little kid and could remember watching football ive loved the Jaguars. Mark Brunnell and Fred Taylor are the only jerseys ive ever owned. Being a Jag fan in Texas is tough haha cause you take alot of crap from people. Why them? They suck! There always bad! Nobody likes them! I really dont care. I love my teal and black. I watch every game even though Houston and Dallas get all the network attention. Ive gone to 2 games and one of them happened to be the playoff game when we beat Pittsburgh. What an experience. Im so glad i found this website. It was by accident. I was looking for my highschools football website and spelled it wrong. Being able to share my thoughts on the team i love with guys that i think love them as much as i do is pretty cool. I dont know how many Jag fans there are in Florida or any other part of the country, but i just wanted to let yall know that if you thought die hard fan from Texas was impossible, well think again. Ive loved this team forever and I will always love this team. My dream in life is to actually be their offensive coordinator haha im a pretty good QB if i say so myself so maybe somehow one day i'll get the chance. And one question. Whats it like to see Peyton Manning live? If anyone knows

2010 Scouting Report: Sean Lissemore, DT, William & Mary

When the Jaguars traded away their second round pick of this year's draft to acquire a third round pick in the 2009 draft, a lot of eyebrows were raised. When the Jaguars used their newly acquired pick on a very unknown cornerback named Derek Cox from William & Mary, anybody who hadn't raised their eyebrows before, did. Many fans were instantly upset with the move, stoked on by comments from Mel Kiper who had Cox listed as his 108th best cornerback in the draft. Trading away a second round pick for such an unknown commodity that played questionable competition at best was very risky.

Less than a year since the move, opinion has changed dramatically about the move. Derek Cox is a fan favorite and considered to be a solid piece for the Jaguars future at the cornerback position and one that the team can build around. Some of the biggest beneficiaries of Cox's success have been the players at William & Mary. In the words of W&M safety David Caldwell:

If Derek Cox hadn’t performed so well last year and made such an impact on the Jaguars, we wouldn’t have had as much attention on Adrian [Tracy] and Sean [Lissemore], and that gave players like myself an opportunity to go off of Adrian and Sean. You just have to use whatever you can use when you come from a small school that’s not used to putting out big name prospects.

One of the more popular of the William & Mary recruits is defensive tackle Sean Lissemore. Lissemore has to be one of the only, if not the only, defensive tackle to enter a draft as a former track star in high school. His 11.20 seconds in the 100m made him one of the best sprinters in New Jersey. A high school linebacker at 6'3, 240 pounds, Lissemore has since gained 50+ pounds yet managed to keep his linebacker speed. His 4.83 40 yard dash would have placed him among the fastest DTs at the combine if he had received an invite.

With all that speed, the next, logical step is to question his strength. His 36 reps on the bench press would have earned him third amongst the defensive lineman at the combine. His 30 inch vertical is very respectable for anybody near the 300 pound weight range. Clearly Lissemore is an athlete with the necessary NFL measurables.

Production is the only thing left to look at production and Lissemore has that too. Although hampered by a nagging shoulder injury that hurt his stat totals in his sophomore year and even affected his play into the beginning of his junior season, Lissemore pulled it all together during his senior campaign. In 14 games, Lissemore accumulated 66 tackles, 14 of which came for a loss, 6.5 sacks and 2 interceptions. All very good numbers from the DT position.

The Jaguars have scheduled a meeting with Lissemore to be held sometime in the next couple weeks.

This morning in the Milwaukee Journal the newest Jaguar, Aaron Kampman, took out a full page ad in the back of the Milwaukee Journal to send a message to all of the Packer fans that cheered for him over the last 8 seasons. You can view the page here.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support, encouragement and friendship. It's been an honor to serve this community as a member of the Green Bay Packer organization. Linde and I thank God for the years we've spent in Wisconsin, and thank you for welcoming us with open arms.

For my family, this time has been so much more than a job. We've experienced many public and private successes that will stand in our memories forever. More importantly, we experienced them with you.

I look forward to the day when I'll bring my three boys to Lambeau field and reminisce about what it was like to be a part of the Packer Nation.

Thank you and God bless.

Aaron Kampman - 2 Cor 5:17,21

Wow, he's definitely nothing less than a true class act. It's great to be able to look at the quality of character on the Jaguars and be able to have pride as a fan in the team that we cheer for. Thank you Gene Smith for bringing a guy of such talent and strong character to Jacksonville. How about we just stay far far away from Pacman Jones, eh?

PICS FROM UF'S PRO DAY

Pro Day Pictures. Joe Haden was out first getting warmed up, then the rest of the guys came out shortly after. (Except Tebow) Media was not allowed on the field, only ESPN and NFL Network from what I could see. Tebow came out around 12 and threw for about 40 minutes.  Gene Smith, Andy Heck, Mel Tucker (that I saw) were in attendance. I heard there was a few other there from the Jags.

I will post more pics first of next week.

Just wanted to say sorry for the absurd amount of spam that's been on BCC recently. By my count we've banned over a dozen different accounts, but like a weed it just keeps coming back. If it makes you feel any better, it hasn't been just this blog.
