Jaguars + World History??????? UPDATED

This is the same post I made a while ago, but I am adding to it, considering that the draft is over and the OTAs are in progress.

You may be wondering what I mean in the title, and you will find out later in this post.

First off, do y'all remember the comment that I posted on "Dark Ages"? This post is related to that post. However, I'm going into detail as to what I meant in that comment. And, by the way, thanks to those two that "rec'd" that comment. I appreciate it.

Right now, you may be wondering how this relates to the Jaguars. Keep reading to find out.

HERE WE GO!

OK. Picture it. Go way back in time. Before the American Civil War, before the American Revolution, before Christopher Columbus "Discovered" the "New World", before the Vikings landed in what is now part of Canada, before the Roman Empire was founded, and all the way back to before civilizations were founded in Mesopotamia. Think all the way back to the time before history, or Prehistory.

Picture it. What do you see? (Explain in comments if you like.)

This is what I consider the Jaguars before they officially became a team in 1995, since the team didn't play until 1995 even though the city was awarded the team in 1993. That means that the period between 1993 and 1995 is just like prehistory, since we know that the city got the team, but the are no "records" (i.e. Sacks, receptions, TD-INT Ratios, Completion %, etc) did not exist for the team.

Now, come closer to the present. Stop at the founding of Summer in Mesopotamia, or ca. 4,000-4,500 B.C., or ≈ 6,000-6,500 years ago. That would be the 1995 Jaguars. The team was young, so was the first civilization. There isn't really anything to say about 1995, except for that we did end up with the second best expansion team record (4-12), right behind our sister team, the Carolina Panthers, whose record in 1995 was 7-9.

Take another jump forward on our timeline. Now we are in the time of the Roman Republic, which was from 509 B.C. to 27 B.C. This is what I would compare the 1996 season. The Roman Republic got stronger and expanded during this time, and the Jaguars made an attempt to start an empire, which would put us in 27 B.C. during the 1996 AFC Championship Game.

In Jaguars' History, 1997-2002 would be equal to 27 B.C.-A.D. 476. In this period, we went to the playoffs 3 more times. 1997-1999 would be equal to the first half of the Roman Empire's history, and 2000-2002 would be the second half, when the empire was declining and divided into East and West.

2003 would have to be A.D. 476, when the Roman Empire finally collapsed after all of the attacks from the Germanic Tribes. The only thing special is that the Roman Empire fell in A.D 476 and the Jaguars fell into the "Dark Ages" in 2003.

2004 would be the time between A.D. 476 and A.D. 800. This would be a section of the Middle Ages called the Dark Ages.

2005-2007 would be the time of the "Holy Roman Empire, which was founded by Karl Der Grösse, aka Charlemagne. This is evident because the Holy Roman Empire was a little resurgence in the Middle Ages, and 2005-2007 was a little resurgence for the Jaguars.

2008-2012 would be like the rest of the Middle Ages, with 2012 being the Bubonic Plague, or the "Black Death. It could also be the destruction of the Knights Templar, which were the second group to land in what is now the United States in 1362. We know 1362 because a stone was found in Kensington, MN, which gives the stone its name, and the stone is double dated 1362.

We are now in 2013. The Renaissance has begun. The firing of Former GM Gene Smith assured us that changes are on their way, and then the hiring of Dave Caldwell and Gus Bradley & Co were only the first steps in the rebuilding of the franchise. Then Caldwell did not resign some veterans, and signed others in Free Agency, but not many, because he wants to build the team "Through the Draft". Then came the draft. We drafted OT Luke Joeckel with the second overall pick, to end the turnstile that we have had at the RT position the past couple years. Then we added SS Jonathan Cyprien with the 33rd pick, adding an immediate starter to that position, plus he is also going to be an impact player. Third round pick Dwayne Gratz is almost guaranteed a starting role at CB, but there is competition. WR Ace Sanders, our fourth round pick, is possibly going to be the starting slot receiver, but also possibly sharing playing time with Jordan Shipley. Sanders also adds speed, or "Juice" to the offense, as well as fifth round RB/WR/QB Denard Robinson. Josh Evans, sixth round FS/SS adds depth and someone who can share playing time with Lowery and Cyprien. The seventh round CBs add more depth to the CB position, and as well as a few UDFAs making the roster. It's all part of the Jaguars Renaissance, just like the "Black Death" help to push people to change, to innovate, and the new logo and uniforms, and the new offensive and defensive schemes speak to that.

This is the same post I made a while ago, but I am adding to it, considering that the draft is over and the OTAs are in progress.

You may be wondering what I mean in the title, and you will find out later in this post.

What to Really Expect from Jedd Fisch

I appreciate the recent articles on how Fisch runs his offense. There are, however, some major flaws with the articles in analyzing Fisch. First of all, the articles are based purely off of statistics and only a few games that Miami played in 2012. When Jedd took the offensive coordinator position in 2011, the offense Miami ran was vastly different in many aspects than he did in 2012. These years are also the first experience Jedd has had as being an offensive coordinator. Prior to an OC, he was the QB coach for the Seahawks. I will explain how not only he is going to be a great OC, but how he is also a struggling QB's best friend.

What do you say when someone asks you what makes a great offensive coordinator? A great OC puts his players in positions where they can execute plays. A poor OC is one that thinks his plays are great, but finds out his players can't execute them. A great OC develops plays to attack specific players and defensive schemes. A poor OC calls the same plays over and over based off of a piece of paper. Jedd has proven that he coordinates his offense around the players he has available and dictates to the coaches overall game plan. He is also very good at scheming for certain defenses. This sounds simple but it's actually very rare to see this type of talented OC not let it all go to his head.

It's important to understand the history behind the entire situation rather than just going off of a few games. Let's not only look at the facts with all of Jedd's experience as on OC starting in 2011...let's take a look at what was happening prior to his arrival at Miami.

In 2009-10, Jacory Harris was a 3rd year starter senior QB at MIami. Harris was not your prototypical NFL passer because he lacks arm strength. To be quite frank, he had a noodle of an arm. Harris was known for throwing more INT's than TD's and a low completion percentage during his stint with prior UM OC Mark Whipple. In a nutshell, Whipple's offense was primary based on taking deep shots down the field. This was obviously not a good fit for Jacory considering his inability to make deep throws. This led to many INT's that cost the team and eventually led to almost the entire staff being let go. Let's take a look at Jacory's statistics at UM for verification:

In 2011, many UM fans were upset that Jacory was going to start at the QB position over the prototype NFL QB Stephen Morris. When Jedd came in, however, he changed the UM offense to put players where they could execute. He implemented an offense with many quick passes, screens, and roll outs. He rarely called 5 step drops to heave the ball down field like his predecessor Whipple. He also implemented he wild cat and many trick plays to keep pressure of the QB. The results were very noticeable in the UM offense. Jacory was at teh top of the conference with a 65% completion percentage and threw 20 TD's to only 9 INT's. Not only was the passing offense more proficient. Miami had a 1,000 yard rusher for the first time in almost a decade.

The UM head coach, Al Golden, ended up being unhappy with the number of offense plays during the 2011 season despite the increase in production. Al instructed Jedd to come up with an offense to increase their play count over the course of a game by 15-20 plays. So Jedd then implemented the up tempo no huddle for 2012. Miami ran zero no huddle offense in 2011.

in 2012, Stephen Morris became the starter. Stephen is an entirely different QB than was Harris. Stephen has a cannon for an arm. His arm strength is eery similar to Rex Grossman for his size. In my personal opinion, Morris will be a 1st round pick next May. Think EJ Manuel before you go blasting me on this one. My fingers are crossed he becomes a Jaguar buts that's an entirely different story. What Jedd did on 2012 was implement more vertical passing routes and deep outs to go along with the up tempo offense. This played Stephen's strengths and the UM was as good as any they've ever had. This is coming from a UM season ticket holder who's also been to every BCS NC game that UM and for that matter that FSU has ever played. You can blast me later for being a UM fan and an FSU grad. My point is I've seen first hand some really good offenses from the big 3 over the years. The fact is that Morris broke every major passing record at UM in 2012.

The reason why UM's offense and Jedd Fisch deserve so much praise is because you could argue the UM run defense was the worst of any school in a BCS conference last season. This gave teams a huge advantage in moving the chains and clock management. Another huge problem in particular was the pass rush. The pass rush was nonexistent. The offense needed to have serious clock management as well as score 40 plus a game to have any shot against average to good teams. Does this sound familiar Jaguar fans? What if the Jags played up tempo and got that last score against the Pats late last season? Jags WIN. What if the Jags offense could manage the clock a little better against the Texans in Houston? Jags WIN. What Jedd did was give the team enough wins to go to the ACC Championship and possibly a major bowl game with no help from the defense. Jedd called the right plays to the right personnel and found ways to win most of the close battles.

It was bitter sweet for me seeing Jedd leave Miami for Jacksonville. I must say that there is not any other OC on the planet I'd rather have than Jedd...even if he is a Gator.

Let me know if you guys enjoyed this read...if so I'll follow up with "Why I think Gabbert will succeed in 2013, yet it might be more false hope."

Standing United With Moore, Oklahoma (And Other Cities Hit By Devastating Natural Disasters)

Okay. The first thing you may ask is: How does this relate to the Jaguars? Well, our new motto is "Stand United", and the people in Moore, Oklahoma and other towns that were hit by powerful tornadoes yesterday (Monday, May 20th) need help and support (I wish we could do something to help).

All I am trying to say is that those in Moor, OK especially (second EF5 Tornado, first in 1999 and now this one. This one caused what appears to be more damage than Joplin, Missouri.

To anyone who lives in Moore, Oklahoma or any other town struck by one of these storms:

I am sorry your lives have been turned upside down by these storms. I am sorry to those who may ave lost a loved one or a friend in these storms. I also hope for a speedy recovery. If there were something I could do to help, I would. I just don't have the means to do so. Good luck!

Jags could make some serious noise this year!

I know most of the nation's writers and analysts have written off the Jaguars this upcoming season due to their youth movement in the secondary, entirely new coaching staff, and BIG question mark at the Quarterback position.

Who could blame them right...?

Wrong!

Here's a few reasons why the Jaguars could make some serious noise this year while trying to rebuild a team that's been spiraling downward for a few seasons now.

1. Blaine Gabbert has weapons

There's no more excuses for Blaine. He finally has a nice receiving corps with two young budding stars, a former pro-bowl TE in Marcedes Lewis who shouldn't be blocking as much this year, and hopefully a healthy Maurice Jones-Drew in a contract year who will be hungry to prove he's worth another big contract. Along with the already in place weapons, Denard Robinson and Ace Sanders might provide big play potential and keep defenses on their toes.

2. No more offensive line problems?

Eugene Monroe is a top 10 LT in the NFL. Pairing him with a healthy Will Rackley, instead of a rotating door at LG, should make that side of the line a strength. Brad Meester in the middle provides quality veteran leadership and can be a stop gap to Mike Brewster after next season. The right side of the line, after being a mess last year, could also be a strength with a healthy Uche Nwaneri and the 2nd overall pick Luke Joeckel. Having Cameron Bradfield learn behind Joeckel for a year or two should help if the Jags don't end up re-signing Monroe when his contract is up, allowing Bradfield to be more experienced in a couple years.

3. New defensive scheme

Gus Bradley is known for his aggressive and fast paced defense which should suit our personnel extremely well. Even though scheme-wise it's not meant to be too complex, it's far from vanilla. Mel Tucker boasted a 4-3 defense with a "simplistic" approach to stopping the offense. His philosophy was "no big plays, keep everything in front of us" leading to a very soft defense. Although I like Mel, and he did make our defense a top 10 D just a couple years ago, I think this new hybrid 3-4 defense will be more effective. Putting Tyson Alualu at DE (which he played in college) should allow him more room to make plays in his natural position. Andre Branch seems to fit the LEO position perfectly instead of holding the edge on a run play or trying to adjust to NFL speed at the outside DE position in a 4-3 scheme. Pair those with a full season of Jason Babin and our pass rush should look a whole lot better, especially with man to man press coverage principles on the outside, giving less time for the opposing Quarterback to make a play.

4. No pressure to win *now*

In recent seasons, the Jaguars were thought to be maybe a player or two away from really competing for a playoff spot. In hindsight, that just wasn't the case. This upcoming season gives the Jags an opportunity to play without any pressure to win a serious amount of games, thus allowing our coaches to evaluate the strengths of our roster and build going forward. This year is a make or break year for Blaine Gabbert, and while Gus Bradley and GM Dave Caldwell aren't tied to him in any way, it would be nice to see him turn the corner and prove he can lead this team to wins in the future. In a worst case scenario, the Jaguars are not competitive at all this season, and draft either JaDeveon Clowney or a top tier Quarterback in a strong QB class at the top of next year's draft.

All in all, I don't expect the Jaguars to be a playoff team this year, but I could really see them improve in a lot of areas. The defense looks to be on its way rebuilding with a youth movement that looks like it could be scary in a few years. Offensively we could turn the corner with a new scheme and Blaine playing with less pressure to "not throw turnovers" (Thanks Mularkey). It'll be fun to see if the Jaguars can make that leap this early to being a competitive team even though nobody on the planet expects much out of them.

Here's to the Jacksonville Jaguars possibly making some serious noise this year!

Top Ten Moments in Jaguars History

The Jacksonville Jaguars have not had many magical moments in recent years. In fact, it has been a while now since the fans have had reason to strut their stuff about their team. Last season, on opening day, when it appeared that there was some glimmer of hope when Blaine Gabbert led the team on a game winning (or so we thought) drive in the final seconds. But the Jaguars managed to snatch defeat from he jaws of victory in their overtime loss to the Minnesota Viking when they couldn't hold the lead for 20 seconds in regulation.

The season went downhill from there as the Jags were blown out in nearly every home game. So now might be a good time to look back and recall better times. Oddly enough, many of these involve playing the Pittsburgh Steelers.

10- The Jaguars whip defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers on national prime time TV. On Thanksgiving weekend in 2003, the Jaguars hosted the defending Super Bowl Champion and in-state rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Jaguars beat the Bucs 17-10 essentially ending the Bucs playoff chances. It was one of the best games the Jags would play all season and a great moment in Jags history.

9- Jags win on Hail Mary on the deflection- November 2010, the Jaguars beat the Houston Texans when David Garrard throws a Hail Mary pass to the end zone on the last play of the game. The Texans secondary does the right thing by batting the ball down, but Mike Thomas happens to be there and he catches the ball and takes it into the end zone for the win.

8- First Monday Night Football game win over Pittsburgh. September of 1997, the jaguars are hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers in their first Monday Night Game. The Steelers look to be about to win on a game winning field goal but the Jags block it and return it for a touchdown. The play sent the Jaguars crowd into a frenzy.

7- First Playoff Game results in win over Buffalo. The Jaguars get into the playoffs thanks to a rare field goal miss by Morten Andersen. Nobody expected much in the playoffs from the 9-7 Jaguars but they went to Buffalo and beat he four time AFC Champions in only their second season and their first playoff game 30-27.

6- First win in the regular season over Oilers- October 1 1995, the Jaguars get their first win at the Astrodome in Houston against the Oilers 17-16. There is something special about that first win. It happens once and only once.

5- Garrard leads Jags to Playoff win over Pittsburgh on the road. Road playoff wins are hard to come by in Pittsburgh. Winning two raod games in the same year against the Steelers is impossible. Or it was until David Garrard played perhpas his best game as a Jaguar in their playoff win over Pittsburgh in 2007. The defense also played lights out with six sacks and three interceptions in the 31-29 win.

4- Jaguars blow out Miami in Marino's Last Game- Dan Marino is football royalty in the state of Florida, but he was not treated that way in his final game, a divisional round playoff game at Jacksonville. The Jaguars scored the most lopsided post season win since 1940 as they shredded the Dolphins for 520 total yards. It was perhaps the greatest game the Jags have ever played on both sides of the ball.

3- Jaguars knock off Denver In AFC Playoffs in 1996. The Jags followed up their shocking upset over Buffalo in their first playoff run with an even bigger one the following week. Jacksonville went to play the #1 seed in the AFC, the 13-3 Denver Broncos and beat them 30-27. Denver would go on to win the Super Bowl the following two seasons.

2- Jacksonville chosen as NFL's 30th Franchise- The day the Jaguars were awarded the franchise was perhaps the happiest day in the city's history. Few thought Jacksonville actually had a chance to get a team, but the city put such a great sales pitch together, the NFL went with Jacksonville.

1- Jaguars throw a scare into the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game- Oddly enough, the greatest moment in Jaguars history was also possibly the most disappointing. The Jags were within just a few yards of the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots when quarterback Mark Brunell threw a pick in the end zone. Even though it was a crushing loss, it was the franchise's proudest moment as they were within a play or two from the Super Bowl in only their second season of play.

I know there will be some disagreements as there always are with lists such as these. Some others that were considered were Jacksonville hosting the Super Bowl, although I;m not sure that technically is a Jaguars moment. Also any win over Peyton Manning and the Colts was considered. And there was the pick six win over he Steelers in 2007.

Hopefully, this list will bring back memories of happier times for fans of the Jags. Maybe it will help to remember that Jacksonville has not always been awful. Sometimes it does seem that way.

Five Bold Predictions For The 2013 Jaguars

Some of these predictions may be hopeful or downright impossible, but who knows.......

1) Marcedes Lewis will be back in prime form and will catch at least 10 Touchdowns.

2) MJD will be well-rested and fully recovered from his injury, gaining over 1200 yards rushing.

3) Matt Scott will take over as the starting QB after a horrific performance by Gabbert in week 3 against Seattle. At this point in the season, the Jags will be 0-3 after losing two close games to the Chiefs and Raiders before getting blown out in Seattle. Matt Scott could create the spark needed to go on a winning streak.

4) Justin Blackmon will eclipse 1000 yards even with a 4 game suspension

5) The defense will be much improved, ranking 10th overall

Some extra fun predictions for the rookies:

- Shoe Lace will have a passing, receiving, rushing and KR TD

- Ace Sanders will make the Pro Bowl as a punt returner

- Cyprien will lead the team in forced fumbles

- Gratz will lead the team in interceptions

Once again, this is all for fun but would be interesting to see if any of these pan out!

I was wondering if any of you would be interested in getting a group together for the game against the titans on 11/10.

Help prove that the Jaguars do have fans and get to meet some fellow Jaguars fans
(you can never know enough)

I would like to see about a group all getting into one section and raising hell. If anyone is interested, let me know. And spread the word!
I noticed on the Jaguars fan map Steve-Neil made on zeemaps, that there are a lot of Jaguars fans in the vicinity of Tennessee.
A Maryland boy with a heart for Jacksonville

Hi my name is Zach. I am from Maryland. I remember my first football game I ever had watched. It was the Jaguars versus the Ravens. As it became 1999&2000 I remember watching the Jaguars more closely and becoming obsessed with them. Remember I had the Ravens I could root for but I gravitated towards the Jaguars. Something about this team up until the Gene Smith era made them feel magical.

Then came the Smith era and the inconsistency, it made me feel like giving up especially in 09/10 but I stayed. I felt the magic would came around again. I felt even when I was bullied by my high school classmates and hearing they are moving jokes or are you guys going to get Teb(l)ow. When the team was sold, I was afraid it might becoming true. I thank God it didn't because of Shadid and his new regime. It also hadn't help that the ravens had won their 2nd Super Bowl before the Jaguars.

The magic has been revived with the positive energy.

I still argue with these raven fans but with the change of times it seems easier because the retorts they use are the same old stuff we hear but we know aren't true. The regime has done a bang up job at changing the view of the roster. The moving jokes seem to have ended and the organization and Bold City is strengthing the spirit and the magic that first captured my attention. I may not be from Duval but I am Jaguar fan til the day I die. I am Generation Jaguar because I did grow up watching this team. So as I enter my college years as a student of Jacksonville U. I hope the magic has truly returned and I grow in my college years with the rebirthed team.

Jags Sign Center

I checked the roster just seconds ago, and saw that we have signed a center, Dan Gerberry. He is 6'3" tall, 302 Lbs, is 27 years old, and has one year of experience under his belt. HE went to Ball State. This is all I know about him. He doesn't even have a number yet. He could be just another "Camp Body" for the backup center role.

Saw this and I definitely was impressed. I met Josh at the Landing one day maybe a year and a half ago, and he was a really cool guy. His wife was looking through the Jersey's and she didn't see his and said they need more Scobee ones, and he just looked at her and said nobody wants that nonsense. She turned to me and asked who's your favorite Jaguar? And of course I knew who he was, but my friend who has never watched a game on tv and only listens on the radio(he wouldn't recognize Peyton Manning if he sat across from him at dinner), he said Scobee of course, that kick against the colts? Unbelievable. He laughed and said thanks, I definitely appreciate it. My friend didn't understand of course but he introduced himself and stopped and talked to us, not just about Football, just anything in general. He asked where we went to school, what we wanted to do for a career, what we liked to do for fun, etc. It was a cool experience.

A SWOT Analysis

Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Chris and I am an Entertainment Business Bachelors graduate of Full Sail University. I have lived in Jacksonville for the past 21 years and have been a Jaguars fan since day 1 when we were incepted in '93. Alright, enough about me.

This article is going to take a Business approach to the "State of the Franchise". It is called a 'SWOT Analysis' which is Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats. These are a necessity in the small business world and also in the entrepreneurial business world as well, as they provide multiple avenues of information. These avenues consists of target market, competition, local area demographics, local area demographical trends and many more.

Let's begin with the strengths. The city of Jacksonville is what a LOT of people in the sports industry like to call a "college town". They say this because of its location being within driving distance of a handful of great universities, ie FSU, UF, UGA, the U, just to name a few. This brings forward an amazing strength for the city itself, sports fans. Football fans are unique, as is the sport. Football fans only have 1 game a week, sometimes 2 if there's a Thursday night game, to prepare for. Unlike sports like baseball/basketball/hockey, that makes life a little easier to schedule. Football fans can easily make means necessary to go and see their games, assuming they have the funds available to do so. Jacksonville, being the "college town", has Sundays wide open, making schedules that much easier for people to adjust to. The next strength is the growth of the city. Jacksonville and its surrounding areas have been on a growing trend for at least the past decade. According to USA.com Jacksonville's population growth, 2000-2010, was nearly 12%. Granted, this rate is lower than the near 18% for the state of Florida, but it is higher than the national average of only 9%. Population will never be a problem for the Jaguars, in fact, it's in my opinion their biggest strength.

Oh the fun part… weaknesses! I'll say it immediately, Jacksonville's economy sucks. Jacksonville is a small business town with a whole slew of small business towns around it, ie Orange Park, Macclenny, Lake City, St. Augustine… I could go on for a while. The biggest corporate income the city has would be the ports. The ports do bring in a great amount of income for the city, but it's pretty much the lone source of large corporate business, aside from a few others including CSX/Winn-Dixie. I'm not saying that this an end-all for the franchise because of a slightly stale economic market, but it's not the brightest spot in Jacksonville for a professional sports team. USA.com reports that the median family income in Jacksonville is $54,182. This is over $6,000 lower than the US average. I'm using the family income because I personally believe there are more families that attend Jaguars games than there are individuals living on their own. $54,182 is going to look like roughly $29-31 after taxes and such which leaves not much per month if you have a family of 4 or more. Monthly grocery bills any more can easily be $150-200/week which translates already to roughly a fourth of that income. Now let's include travel expenses, 12k miles a year at 20mpg at $3.40/gallon takes out another $2,040 from that… and that's assuming it's a one car family, that number is easily doubled and tripled for families with multiple cars. Oh yea, we have 2 kids that go to school, so let's take another $1000 for supplies and clothes. Let's also figure in a house payment of $800-1200/mo and utilities around $300/mo. So, we look at this in the end and there's not much room to pay for extra-curricular activities unless we put it on credit, or we possibly sacrifice other areas to make this happen, ie retirements, 401k, IRA… But that's where a lot of Jaguars fans are smart (Middleburg/Westside/Macclenny not included, love you guys!) and typically ride together and tailgate at games. Obviously this is something many teams do but there's always plenty of Jaguars fans riding together to save that extra $25-50/game for parking. Needless to say, the only real weakness the Jaguars have is an economic market that does not push for a professional team of any type, but interestingly enough, we still survive.

Opportunities!! Our now sophomore owner, Mr. Khan, has grabbed opportunity by the throat and is making the best of each and every one. I will not compare Khan to Weaver as they both are vastly different in their business views. I do believe Weaver had the right means as a businessman in getting Jacksonville an NFL team but I also believe that Khan is better at improving what is already there. Again, neither are better or worse, just that they're different in their business focus. Jacksonville has many opportunities. One of their opportunities is their biggest strength, sports fans. Having a multitude of sports fans ready and available makes selling tickets and merchandise a lot easier. Khan has an opportunistic state of mind when it comes to his business ventures. He sees the opportunity, studies it, learns its own strengths and weaknesses, and then capitalizes on it. This is the type of ownership the Jaguars franchise currently needs to help build up to everything it can and will be.

Threats. Threats are not fun to write about in an analysis… Typically they're viewed as an attack on that individual, business or entity. Currently there are a few threats against the Jaguars organization. The whole "Jags would do better in X city/country" is the biggest threat against the franchise. As a business, the Jaguars don't want to hear that. It's a sign of people having no faith in the organization and people wanting to see it go away and get out of their hair. Sadly, this mentality has been here for a while, and rightfully so. We covered up seats, we had black-outs, we have fans giving up tickets because "their player" wasn't drafted, and we also have lawyers trying to use levy donating to a charity if we pick up a certain player… It's normal for individual fans to do things such as that, but not a law office. It's distasteful and not a good business practice, but then again he's a lawyer, 'nuff said. Our economic weakness is also a threat to the organization. You can go back and read the weaknesses paragraph to understand where I'm coming from here.

Welp, for my first write-up on the organization and on BCC I hope you enjoy the read and I do hope for some good input from the readers.

God bless,
