The No. 8 overall pick, Harvey likely won't sign by Friday, although Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio recently expressed optimism about getting Harvey into camp before the first practice Saturday. The picks above (New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis) and below (Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers) Harvey also are unsigned, one of several factors that could delay his signing.

"Matt will be in camp," Del Rio said. "We feel like this is something that he'll have to deal with personally with the law. We expect to have him in camp on time on Friday and we'll help him work through it."

There had been speculation that the Jaguars would part ways with Jones after his arrest. Instead, Del Rio says he wants to help the receiver become a better man.

"He feels bad," Del Rio said. "But he understands that he'll have to deal with this head on like a man."

Should we be worried about Porter’s hamstring?
Vic: I think there’s reason for concern. He was signed to be the number one receiver this team hasn’t had and desperately needs. I don’t know much about hamstring surgery because I can’t remember a player I’ve covered who’s had one, but I think it’s clearly an obstacle that has to be overcome. The Jaguars need him. That’s why they paid $10 million to sign him. His rehab from this surgery is very important.

Yeah, Absolutely. Well, you know, Brian's going to work some there. We think Brian's a real good football player, so we're working combinations right now and we consider him a starter, whether it be at corner or safety, we know he can start. I think thats just one example of a guy that's doing the right thing for the team. He knows that by adding talent it makes us all stronger. I think he understands what we need to contend with, with Indy and New England and some of the elite passing teams in the NFL. We need an elite secondary, we're working hard to put one together.

Lito Sheppard is one of the most accomplished football player to come out of Jacksonville since Bob Hayes. The two time Pro Bowler from Raines High School might be coming home. Reports in Philadelphia say the Jaguars have been discussing a trade for the Eagles cornerback. The Jaguars already have one Jacksonville native at corner, Rashean Mathis. Sheppard would be a good addition, although the Jaguars already signed Drayton Florence in free agency and already have Brian Williams on the roster.

Cole is close enough to the team to get a no-go sign from the Jaguars if this were "just rumor". Keep this in mind.

A guy to watch out for is Arkansas State Strong Safety Tyrell Johnson. NFL Draft Scout has him as the number one strong safety in the draft.

Compares To: ANTOINE BETHEA-Indianapolis...Like Bethea, Johnson is a bit of a 'tweener, as he lacks the bulk and size you look for in a strong safety and does not show the man coverage skills to play free safety. He is a good fit for a Cover-2 scheme, as he is more comfortable playing downhill than when parked in the deep third of the zone. He is a superb pass thief and plays with reckless abandon, especially on special teams. He does bite a lot on activity in the backfield and is slow to see the play develop, but does close with good urgency when he locates the ball. Look for Johnson's athletic ability, natural hands and timed speed to impress a team more than his lack of instincts and poor man coverage skills that could scare off a few other organizations.

Pay close attention to Johnson...
