Jaguars 17th Annual Food Drive

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be doing their 17th annual food drive on Sunday when they play the New Orleans Saints. They'll be collecting non-perishable and monetary donations prior to the game.

Join our team to help eliminate hunger in Jacksonville. There are THREE ways to donate to the food drive:

1.) Visit your neighborhood Winn-Dixie store through November 8th.
2.) Bring non-perishable food items* to the Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints game on Sunday, October 2nd.
3.) Give a monetary donation* at the Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints game on Sunday, October 2nd.

*The first 2,000 fans who donate at the game will receive a Jaguars giveaway*

Second Harvest North Florida, Northeast Florida's regional food bank, will again serve as the central resource of receiving and distributing the donated food to 18 area counties and more than 500 non-profit organizations feeding those who hunger.

Donations will be accepted at each of the four main gates at EverBank Field including both East and West Touchdown Club entrances starting at 10:30 am.

Jaguars want a "White Out" against the Bengals

Photo

The Jacksonville Jaguars are going to ask fans to wear white in their home match up with the Cincinnati Bengals on October 9th at EverBank Field. To my knowledge, aside from "teal" this is the first time the team has openly asked fans to wear a specific color on game day. The team will be selling a special white t-shirt that is $10, I assume similar to the September 11th shirts they sold. They will be available at the next home game and at Football Fanatics and Sports Mania stores.

The Jaguars are inviting their fans to take part in the team's first-ever "whiteout" game when they host the Cincinnati Bengals at EverBank Field on October 9th at 1:00 p.m.

The team will be wearing an all-white uniform when they take on the Bengals and the Jaguars are asking their fans to do likewise to create a "whiteout" at EverBank Field.

Macky Weaver, the Jaguars Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, said, "With the team wearing its all-white uniform against Cincinnati we thought this would be a great opportunity to show a unified front against the Bengals, so we're inviting all of our fans to take part by wearing white to the game."

Jaguars & Falcons To Practice Wednesday

The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to hold a joint practice this Wednesday afternoon. The Jaguars traveled up to Flowery Branch last offseason to spend a few days with the Falcons, and they're returning the favor this offseason. The Falcons will spend one practice with the Jaguars out at the Florida Blue Practice Fields before their match up on Friday night.

Unfortunately, this practice is not open to the public, but if you're a member of Team Teal, you can RSVP on their website and attend the practice. I'll be out at the practice and will have a report on some of my observations the next morning. Click the jump to see some things that I'll be looking for.

Team Teal Rally Next Week

I'm sure a lot of you got the e-mail, but for those who didn't:

Through the efforts of Touchdown Jacksonville and Team Teal, the Jaguars set an NFL record for single-season new season ticket sales for an established NFL franchise with over 17,000 new season tickets sold for the 2010 season. The incredible community-based effort to "Revive the Pride" in Jacksonville resulted in all Jaguars home games being broadcast on TV locally in 2010.

While the achievements of the 2010 "Revive the Pride" campaign were extraordinary, the challenge to ensure the long-term viability of Jacksonville as a NFL city continues.

Jaguars Chairman and CEO Wayne Weaver and Head Coach Jack Del Rio will join Team Teal Commissioner Tony Boselli and Touchdown Jacksonville’s Carl Cannon to kick off the 2011 Touchdown Jacksonville and Team Teal campaign to "Keep the Pride Alive."

WHAT:             Team Teal/Touchdown Jacksonville Kickoff Rally 2011 – "Keep the Pride Alive"

WHERE:           South End Zone, EverBank Field, free parking available in Lot D

WHEN:            Friday, February 11 at 6:00 p.m.

WHY:               Re-launch Team Teal 2011 effort and Keep the Pride Alive campaign

The event will be open to the public as Team Teal continues to recruit members for the 2011 season. A number of special prize drawings will take place during the launch including a chance for those attending to win 2011 season tickets and upgrades to the Touchdown Club at EverBank Field. Special reduced-price concessions will also be available in the Bud Zone at the launch event.

You are invited to attend this important event to hear plans for Team Teal and Touchdown Jacksonville as they begin their efforts to fill EverBank Field for the Jaguars 2011 NFL season.

Free parking will be available in Lot D, and please enter through Gate 4 at the Southeast corner of EverBank Field.

We hope to see you all next Friday!

Team Teal

Jaguars Movember team, The Caterpiller Lips and "The Mustache Ride"

Photo

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a Movember team, called The Caterpiller Lips. If you're not familiar with Movember, it's a charity event held all during the month of November in which men grow mustaches to raise funds for awareness for men's health. "Mo" is slang for mustache in Australia and doing it in the month of November, naturally you get Movember. Simple enough?

Come to find out Bryan Schneider, a Jacksonville Jaguars intern in the athletics training department, formed a team in order to raise funds for LIVESTRONG.  He was able to get some Jaguars players on his Movember roster. Players participating are Eben Britton, Brad Meester, Maurice Jones-Drew, Kirk Morrison, Kyle Bosworth, Larry Hart, Sean Considine, and Mike Caussin. So, if you see any of this guys on TV or around town rocking a 'stache, you know why.

Also, Eben Britton and his mother, Abbie, are holding an event on Saturday November 20th in Jacksonville Beach. She and Eben are hosting "The Mustache Ride", where participants can pay $20 to enjoy a party, dance, and a cycle ride. All the proceeds from the event will go to team Caterpillar Lips.

The SEO hits from this should be enjoyable.

Today at a press conference, Team Teal headed by former Jacksonville Jaguar Tony Boselli, announced that October 18th has been declared "Teal Monday". The Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, John Peyton, announced today that officially it will be known as "Teal Monday," similar to what the Jaguars did last year for the Thursday Night match up with the Indianapolis Colts.
