Recap: Houston vs. Miami

Sports Network | October 12, 2008

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Matt Schaub's three-yard touchdown run with three seconds left in the contest sent Houston to a thrilling 29-28 victory over Miami at Reliant Stadium.

Schaub finished 22-of-42 for 379 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for the Texans (1-4), who picked up their first win of the 2008 campaign.

Andre Johnson led all receivers with 10 catches for 178 yards and a TD. Kevin Walter added 98 yards on four receptions. Steve Slaton picked up 58 rushing yards on 15 carries.

Chad Pennington completed 19-of-25 passes for a pair of scores for the Dolphins (2-3), who have never beaten the Texans in four tries since Houston's 2002 inception.

Patrick Cobbs had three catches for 138 yards but two were for touchdowns. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams added rushing scores in defeat.

Facing a five-point deficit, Houston's final drive might have ended on a 3rd- and-10 from its own 36, but a potential game-ending interception was ruled an incompletion when replay revealed the ball hit the turf. Johnson then hauled in a 23-yard pass on fourth down, and after a spike, Schaub hit Walter for 30 yards to the Miami 11.

Another Johnson catch brought the Texans to the three with 16 seconds remaining, but two incompletions brought up a 4th-and-2 with seven ticks left. Schaub then slipped up the middle and scored on a draw for the go-ahead score.

A rush by Slaton on the two-point conversion failed, leaving the Texans up by just one point.

Kris Brown's squib kick was fielded at the Dolphins' 41 by Anthony Fasano. Pennington's final pass to Williams plus several laterals failed to gain much yardage as time ran out.
