Jacksonville Jaguars DEFEAT Pittsburgh Steelers 31-29

JAGS WIN!  JAGS WIN!

In what had to be the most difficult 4th quarter of Football I've ever seen, our Jaguars have won.  They survived what was very nearly a hopeless situation, the Steelers score 19 points in the 4th quarter, and the Jaguars were on their heels.

But then David Garrard epitomized the entire Jaguars season in one play, going for 32 yards on 4th and 2 and set the Jaguars up for the win.

Un. Real.

Game Winning Field Goal by Scobee gives us another week!

I'm gonna process the win a bit, I think Freek1969 is gonna help out with the post game commentary!

What a game!

GO JAGUARS!!

Fitting in a way
that the defining play of the year to date is one that Leftwich couldn't have made with a flamethrower tank as lead blocker.

problems with young guys on defense
I commented in the live blog about the poor open field tackles and not "wrapping up"...I saw this numerous times from Reggie Nelson, Terry Cousins and Sammy Knight.  I stated in the live blog that this would hurt the Jags in the second half.

It did.  2 of the TD by the Steelers were directly resulting from yards made because of PISS POOR TACKLING  by the young guys...we are lucky we pulled this one out.

Del Rio on the Radio
(on 4th down) That was a play we liked, David was on board, it was a sweet play.  We needed a big play at the end of the game and got it.  Scobee got it through.  Everybody's smiling.

Del Rio...
(On potential opponents) It's great to be alive, it's good that we know each opponent well.  It's a tough road and we're excited about the opportunity .  We'll take tomorrow off and decide if we're in on Monday or Tuesday to get back to work.

Del Rio Cont...
Fred Taylor gave Del Rio a Game Ball for his first playoff win.

(On Injuries) Henderson has a concerning injury, Reggie (?) and Justin Durant were cramping, and will be fine.  Not sure which Reggie he was referring to.

Not to regress..
But that game was insane.  A near instant classic o a playoff game.

Rashean Mathis
MVP of the game, according to the WOKV Folks.

It's David Garrard, when the game was on the line we put the ball in his hands.

Mathis says...
We need to tackle better.

Yeah.  Get on that.

love it
i love that he said he wanted the ball in his hands and he wanted to make up for the INTs.

MAN.  mistakes or not, we have one hell of a qb.

It was great...
how they didn't let the pressure get to them.

That is championship caliber.

Too bad they would have to beat the colts.  /colts homer :)

Go Colts!

JDR needs to.....
Take Reggie Nelson to the woodshed and light his azz on fire.  Reggie needs to learn to settle the hell down and be a damn PROFESSIONAL. we cant have his stupid and immature antics in the next game where he is trying to start fights.  In addition he needs to remember this ain't FLORIDA GATORS ball anymore...wrap up and bring the players down.   Quit trying to shoulder bump someone and hope they give up and sit down for you....this is the playoffs and PROFESSIONALS don't LAY DOWN for a shoulder bump.
Go Jags!

wtf AP?
the associated press write up states: "But quarterback David Garrard , not a great runner, found a seam on a convert-or-else fourth-and-2 play and rambled 32 yards to the Steelers 11 with 1:56 left."

are they confused about who our qb is?

by abeaugh on Jan 6, 2008 12:19 AM EST   0 recs

The run...
Was a bit of a ramble after he got around the D-line, he was "slow juking" the safety.

While normally I'd agree with the bad media, Rambling is a good way to describe that run.

before that
my issue was with them saying "Garrard, not a great runner..."

Congrats guys
Best of luck in the next round, I really hope you guys can knock the Pats. You'd definitely put a smile on a lot of people's faces.
