Free Agent Speculation: Cornerback Drayton Florence

It's not free agency if you're not taking throwaway one-liners from other newspapers sports sections and trying to figure out of the team might be seriously interested in a guy.
In this case, the Washington Post reports:
Let's address those two points. First off, if the Jaguars get two draft picks (say a 3rd and a 6th) AND dump Marcus Stroud's 5 million dollar salary this season, we're winners all around. We should thank Kris Jenkins and all the other defensive tackles that have boosted the percieved value in a guy like Stroud. I expect to see a deal done with Buffalo in the next 24 hours.
Now, on Drayton Florence. He's the PERFECT nickel corner for a team like Jacksonville who has to play a lot of nickel. Yeah, he needs polishing, but he's quick, and when he is in the right position, he can make a break on the ball. Again, he's not going to be a starter, but when we play teams (Indinapolis) who hurt us with three or more receivers, he gives us a solid option at nickel corner.
Oh yeah, he went to High School in Ocala and has family in Jacksonville.
His Scouting Report:
We also learn something else if the Jaguars make this signing. We learn that the early rounds of the draft will be entirely made of "Big Guys" Defensive Ends and Tackles, Offensive Guards and Tackles. The Trench Fighters! And it's a good draft for that, if nothing else.
Just remember, I'm batting pretty poorly on Free Agent predictions, but this is someone to think about!

Stroud for Sheppard
We have GOT to find a way to dump Stroud, and I think that if we don't trade him, he may be asked to take a pay cut or be cut. Del Rio made a comment about how "it's all about production", in my opinion, he just tipped his hand too much. I think that Stroud has some serious injury issues and realizes that his only way to secure his $5 million dollars is from another team. Keep in mind that he and Big John are real close, and since he is still under contract for a few more years at such a premium, WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE WANT TO GO ELSEWHERE!? Unless, of course, the Jags have let him know that if he can't find a buyer, he will either be released or have to take a pay cut. He knows that if he can't find a team willing to trade for him, he may end up being cut AFTER all the big money has already been spent, virtuallly ensuring he won't get anything CLOSE to 5 million.... maybe I'm overthinking all this, but it makes good business sense to me, and if there is one thing the Jags are good at, it's not overspending, forget player loyalty (D. Darius anyone). Lemme know what you think Chris. I really love your insight, and have found myself enjoying your take more that Vic's from the official website. Your writing has improved immensly over the last year, keep it up... AND POST MORE!! haha (forget about your 9-5... right? haha)

florence
if we could get lito from the eagles, that would be amazing. the eagles are my other team, since i followed them before jax got the jaguars, so if they have to lose a great corner like lito, then i'd want it to be to the jags.
