After spending the most pivitol nine years of my life in Colorado I find my self wandering the earth in search of the community and feeling that was Colorado. Boy sometimes you just miss the mountains. The best memory I have as a Bronco Fan was October 29, 2006. With the Colts in town, A friend of mine got me 50yrd line tickets as a birthday present. During a TV Time out, Darrent Williams comes over and I ask him for his autograph and we start talking. As soon as he finds out it is my birthday I get pictures, autographs and hand shakes from almost every guy on the team. The memento I will never part with is the hat that was DWill's sideline hat that the whole team autographed for me that day. Even though we lost the Broncos secured their place as my team forever that day. Darrent you will be missed by so many!

Jay Cutler- 32 Games in
So next week will be a key game for Jay Cutler who looks to do two things:
pass the 3000 yrd mark with 5 games to go in teh season
pass the 7500 yrd mark for 32 games (two reg seasons)
can someone tell me where that stacks up to the other?
Avg of 3500 through his first two "seasons" as an NFL QB? That has to be out-friggin-standing! Just a note for the week guys!

Who needs Torain?
Nice title huh?
I was thinking about this the other night and have actually talked to someone about this but let me pose a question to our readership..
With the emergence of an effective multi-headed hydra, is there a need for a franchise back?

Cutler in the TOP 5 talks...
a little bit off skewed but the story is good:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3594747
The story shows me two things:
Cutler gets noticed for many things but mostly his ZIP and Athletic Ability
Cutler doesn't get mentioned but ONCE on the Weakness area.
The MSM is starting to realize we have the real deal in the mountains!

I have this small thought in my head right now
I have seen a few things happen this early year which may end up surprising some people so I dont wat the possibility surprising the MHR Faithful.
Trade O-Lineman to a system that needs him for a 5th rounder in 2009
Trade a 5th string CB to a team that needs him for a 6th rounder THIS year
Trade a WR who was probably gonna get cut or see the bench all year to a desperate team for a conditional 5th rounder (I dont knwo the full story here just the rumor)
That's three picks that we have successfully neted in threw and a half weeks. Now on paper, those three don't really amount to a whole lot but lets say you couple them with a mid to late #20 first round pick, could that possibly move you into the top 5? top 10? to grab some of the great defensive players that will more than likely come out of this years draft?
My buddies at walter have this to say:
#25 Denver Broncos- James Laurinaitis really shouldn't have fallen this far, but there aren't many teams that need an upgrade at middle linebacker. In a perfect world, Laurinaitis would go top 10.
That being said I would like to make you aware of the top notch Defensive players coming out this year:
6 Top Rated DE- not really a need for us, unless Moss doesn't prove his metal.
4 Top Rated DT- Something we may need to look at but not as big a concern as other areas.
3 Top rated OLB- Some of these guys could actually play inside too!
4 Top Rated ILB- and three of them are All-Americans!
5 Top Rated CB's- Not that this is a huge need again but it shows defensive strength in this draft.
4 Top rated SAF's- Could be looking at concerns here as well.
Once again not to change the direction but I wanted to keep the idea fresh in MHR's collective mind that Shanny may be stocking up to Trade up to get the player HE wants! Thoughts?

MHR Scouting Services- The Plan
For those of you involved in the Scouting Services I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. Slam Dunk the Funk has brought up a great suggestion that will help our system out wonderully. It would be most benificial to our team and to our knowledge to grab about 5 or six weeks worth of information before we start laying it out on the table for the readers. I already have a good 2 or three notebooks worth of information on a few players in my three conferences., and I am assuming that you all have somethign similar. Styg has given us the formula for success ( see the side bar's "Scouting Services") and now it is up to us to take on the mantle. I will post the first one here in a few weeks! Keep your eyes peeled, your pencils and DVR's quick and get ready for a wild college season to match the NFL!

Who Should Get the Nod Version 2
Here is a Slightly updated List of my Keepers. The Original is here!
My Changes will be highlighted
QB
Jay Cutler
Darrell Hackney
Cullen Finnerty (Emergency QB)
Good Bye PB&J Ramsey
RB
Anthony Aldridge
Andre Hall
Michael Pittman
Selvin Young
Ryan Torain (PUP)
I think this speaks true!
FB
Cecil Sapp
Peyton Hillis
Denver admitted to wanting a true fullback by drafting one. I think Sapp starts out but he will be the back up by the end of the season. Hillis runs like Griffith to me he sees the hole and runs to beat the RB there and block away.
TE
Daniel Graham
Tony Scheffler
Nate Jackson
I think Jackson gets the nod over Mustard based on the fact that if we run any 3-TE sets this year the third TE will be focused on more catching than blocking.
WR
Brandon Marshall
Brandon Stokely
Eddie Royal
Keary Colbert
Darrell Jackson
Glenn Martinez
Here the competition is stiff and close. I think these guys make it out based on things said by Coach. Don't rule out one of these guys leaving too but these are the 6 i think stay. Martinez could go if Aldridge prove PR/KR worthy
OL
Ryan Clady
Tyler Polumbus
Erik Pears
Ryan Harris
Ben Hamilton
Chris Kuper
Montrae Holland
Tom Nalen
Kory Lichtensteiger
Casey Wiegmann
This is a difficult list because I limited myself to 10 for the O Line. I think however these guys make our roster and are the productive members of the team on the line.
DE
Elvis Dumervil
Jaravis Moss
Tim Crowder
Ebeneezer Ekuban
John Engleberger
Here I have my first set of guys who you could trade out. Eeks and Engleberger are inter-changeable to me because they provide the same thing, mainly experience opposite Dumervil.
DT
Marcus Thomas
Dewayne Robertson
Carlton Powell (IR)
Alvin McKinnley
Paul Carrington
I actually like our middle and what it looks like it could end up being. Thomas as the main guy with the other three rotating around him to provide the threat.
LB
D.J. Williams
Boss Bailey
Niko Koutouvides
Spencer Larsen
Wesley Woodyard
Nate Webster
Jamie Winbourn
You could argue we just gave Louis Green a contract extension, but I just don't see him beating out these guys.
CB
Champ Bailey
Dre Bly (I WANT A 2nd or 3rd rounder for him)
Domonique Foxworth
Karl Paymah
Jack Williams
I think these are the guys I am most comfortable with to be honest.
Safety
Marquand Manuel
Marlon McCree
Josh Barrett
Hamza Abdullah
This is who goes into the season.
K/P
This one just seems off to me. I think Prater and Paulescue still come away with the jobs but this could be where I completely miff the picks.
TOTAL Roster Count: 55 (+ IR?PUP & Emergency Back up QB)
Alright guys and gals rip it apart and tell me what you think!

Warner to replace Ramsey?
Okay the headline may incite a riot but I would at least like to say my piece before I get ripped a new one. Currently Warner is the starter in Arizona and his contract is up at the end of the year.
Warner- Playoff and Superbowl experiance
Ramsey- "Oh, look coach they have NFL games in January!"
Warner- Good work ethic, dedication
Ramsey- "Look coach a bird"
Warner- NFL & Super Bowl MVP (I coudl be wrong on the last)
Ramsey- "Coach how do you spell MVP?"
The dude wants to play two more years and he has said he doesnt mind being a back up to a young QB to help him in his game. Here is the article that got my attention on this guy. Thoughts?

MSM aknowledges greatness!
13. Tony Scheffler will finish the year as a top-5 fantasy tight end.
its a preidiction!
MSM made this? what?
here's the link:

AND JUST FOR GURU:
33. Brett Favre's consecutive game streak will end this season. And Brett will get involved in a scandal before he realizes the New York media is very different than the Green Bay media.
34. Brett Favre will retire at the end of the season and do a long, tearful farewell at various stadiums. There'll be magazine covers and retrospectives.
35. Brett Favre will suit up for the Buccaneers next season.
