Brady Quinn done for season
Just read this at Fanhouse, Brady Quinn is done.
Browns quarterback Brady Quinn is done for the year after doctors revealed that the break to his right index finger has gotten worse since he's tried to play through the injury, sources told FOXSports.com.
Team sources said that Quinn and the team made the decision together earlier today. Sources say that not only has the break in his right index finger worsened, but it is also starting to injure the tendons as well.
This has to be one of the worst seasons for quarterback health.

Goodbye Colts, Forever!
It should be hard to say goodbye, but it just isn't. I am tired of you "classy" Colts fans. I am joining the real "classy" fan base of the Greatest. Team. Evah.
The New England Patriots.
I know I have been visiting/reading here for two years or so, but I now see the light. Bill Belichick is the greatest coach ever, and Tom Brady is actually the second coming of Jesus.
If you Colts fans would wise up, you too would join me and throw away the blue horseshoes of tyranny! Instead pick up a Samuel Adams lager and cheer for the team of Destiny. The team of Greatness! The team that will win the next 5 Super Bowls!
Go Pats!!!

Oh and one last thing. Terry is always right. About everything. Really!!!

Get your 18-1 Tee Shirts, Hot Off The Presses!
Oh these shirts are too funny, but I do love this one though:
Eli may have a ring now, but in a Manning Super Bowl, we know which brother would win! :)

Cya later...
Ya know, it is a Colts blog. You wouldn't know that from all the trolls wandering around. It is bad enough that we lost, badly, but we have to sort through all this trash talk at the end of our season?
Screw that. Constructive talk is one thing, but if I wanted to hear Pats ball washing talking points... I would just turn on ESPN.
How about making an environment for your viewers that have been here for 2 years, rather than letting trash talkers get their jollies by kicking us when we are down.
So later, I will be back for the draft. As Cartman would say:
Screw you guys, I'm going home.

Philip Rivers has a twin?
Philip Rivers always looked familiar to me, and now I think I know why.
I spotted River's look-alike while watching "Tango & Cash", that brilliant 1989 movie with Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell. The character Face looks just like him! Remember the scene in the prison laundry?
Ray Tango: Oh shit, it's Conan.
Gabriel Cash: What?
Ray Tango: It's Conan.
Gabriel Cash: Are we gonna get F.U.B.A.R now?
Ray Tango: What the hell is F.U.B.A.R?
Gabriel Cash: You'll see.
Face: Real bad ass cops. You don't look so tough now, do you? DO YOU, YOU FUCK? Out on the streets, this pig with his cop friend, broke my ribs, my leg and my jaw.
[tsks at Tango]
Gabriel Cash: You broke that jaw?
Ray Tango: He deserved it.
The resemblance, it's uncanny!!!

In full disclosure, this diary was meant as a joke, so hopefully no one takes it seriously... and if anyone knows of any other look alikes, please throw them in the comments! :)

ESPN trying to drum up controversy... badly.
[editor's note, by River City Rage] Marked Hoosier was kind enough to post this. I wasn't sure how I wanted to address this issue, so I'll run with this. I'm very much upset at the whole "disrespect" angle that the Media and the New England fanbase has taken all season, and now that their "wrath" is pointed toward the Jaguars, it's inevitable that they find something to complain about. In effect, the "disrespect" issue is something that's artifically made by the traditional media to sell to fans. Getting insane about "respect" is to fall in the hands of media conglomorates. Grow up. Think for yourself. The New England Patriots don't need bulletin board material in order to win, they need Tom Brady, Rodney Harrison, Mike Vrabel, etc.
I'll quote the suddenly asteriked Vic Ketchman on this one:
What does it matter? It has no effect on the game. They're just words. All last week, I kept hearing about bulletin board material in Pittsburgh and in Jacksonville. What effect did it have on the game? None. It was essentially the same game I saw three weeks earlier. The sporting public has become way too concerned about what is said. If it wasn't as concerned, you wouldn't see the media dedicate as much attention to it, for the obvious reason. The media will give you whatever you want because your eyes and your ears represent sales. Don't be used as a tool by the media. If the war of words bothers you, then ignore it. It means nothing. How players perform is all that matters and if their performances can be influenced one way or another by what is said, you've got the wrong players. And This:
(q)A website has a link to your rankings, where you note (via asterisk) that the Patriots "cheated in one game." They speculate that this may become bulletin board material for them. Your thoughts?Vic: So the Patriots are gonna get motivation from the words of a man who drives a Nissan Sentra that has 94,000 miles on it and a CD changer that's stuck. What can I say? The truth is the pure defense.
Thanks Hoosier for posting this
-Chris
WTF with this talk about Paul Spicer? If you haven't heard (which means you don't watch or listen to any sports news...):
If the undefeated Patriots need bulletin board material for their playoff game Saturday night against the Jaguars, they have it now.If Jacksonville defensive lineman Paul Spicer had his way, the Patriots wouldn't have even qualified for the playoffs because of the Spygate scandal.
"Do like the NCAA and kick them out of the playoffs or something," Spicer told The Associated Press after news of the scandal broke. "Put them on probation; they can't go to no playoff games. Roger Goodell has definitely enforced some new rules. He's been hard on players. Now let's see how hard he's going to be with a team."
Did you catch the bolded part? His made the comments MONTHS AGO! Trying to make a controversy from nothing, they asked him to comment.
"I don't regret saying what I said. I'm a man of my word. I always speak my mind and that's what I felt at that time," Spicer said.
I know that the annoying sports writers have tried every week to come up with some sort of "disrespect" card for the Pats, but come on! They just had a 3 minute report on ESPN where all they did was ask Pat players what they thought about Spicer's bad eeevvviiiilll comments! This is the best they can do? Dig for months old comments to try to drum up outrage?
Just when you thought ESPN couldn't go lower, they get a shovel.

Are You Going To Watch?
If you Colts fans are like me, then you hate the f*cking Patriots. Hate. Loathe. And like me, you are tired of the Patriot ball washing. Sure, they are doing good. Sure they are a good team. Sure Brady is breaking records. Yet, I don't give a rat's ass.
The Patriots play a game tonight, that will be on 3 different channels. It is a football game, and we all love to watch football. So are you going to watch it? I am not sure if I will watch it yet, but I am hoping that the Giants win for just one reason... I can't stand the thought of listening to annoying Pats fans for the next 30+ years talk about going undefeated!!!
So please, take my survey. I wanna know how the Colt nation is feeling about the game. :)

Shoot Me Now...
Update [2007-11-20 0:9:8 by BigBlueShoe]: Promoted from diaries: This made me LOL. --BBS
Why do they let Kornheiser speak during MNF? He just claimed that "nobody has heard of [Jeff] Fisher but everybody has heard of [Mike] Shannahan."
What? WHAT?
Why can't I watch the Titans lose in peace? Although I hate to cheer for the Broncos, I will... cause I hate the Titans more.
PS- Don't ya love using the diaries to b*tch and moan? I do!

Two Jaguars Arrested
[editor's note, by River City Rage] As much as I hate to talk about these things, Marked Hoosier was kind enough to keep us posted about the recent arrest of two Jaguars.
As far as the game is concerned, the big problem with not having Durrant is that we'll (as best I can figure only have 4 linebackers available for the game.
Thanks MH for the update!
Just saw this... Two Jags Arrested:
Jaguars rookie linebacker Justin Durant and second-year offensive tackle Richard Collier were arrested in separate incidents early Saturday, and neither made the trip to New Orleans.Jacksonville police arrested Collier for driving under the influence, and Durant was charged with resisting arrest without violence.
The Jaguars placed Collier on the reserve/suspended list Saturday. The team said Collier and Durant didn't travel for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Tight end Isaac Smolko was activated from the practice squad to replace Collier.
The team declined further comment.
At 4 p.m. Saturday, Collier remained in custody, according to Duval County jail officials. Durant was released earlier in the day on $2,500 bail.
Collier has been inactive every game this season. Durant, a second-round pick from Hampton, played in six games with two starts and has 13 tackles.
The Jaguars have had eight players arrested since January 2006.
Wow, a DUI? And resisting arrest? Did the Bangles come down and give a seminar on how to act or something?
