Update [2007-10-28 17:32:24 by River City Rage]: Reggie Nelson hit Garcia and knocked his hat off. Nelson is down with what could be a head injury. He's walking off the field but looks a little woozy. Garcia diddn't get the converstion though, Bucs will take a field goal.
Update [2007-10-28 17:30:7 by River City Rage]: Bucs keep on taking shots to the end zone. They're out of time outs, 47 seconds left. We're almost constantly blitzing. Nelson's gone in on the blitz, Mathis, good coverage though, Garcia is in all sorts of pressure but has no target.
Update [2007-10-28 17:28:44 by River City Rage]: 1 min left in the half, Garcia taking shots while the Jaguars blitz. 2nd and 20. Go figure that Jerramy Stevens gets the big 21 yard play. Jaguars are playing with deep safeties. Rookie Justin Durant was supposed to cover Stevens and clearly failed. Jack should give him a lesson in linebacker coverage.
Update [2007-10-28 17:19:46 by River City Rage]: 3rd and long, long throw to Matt Jones (who?), who attempts to catch it one handed and drops it. It looks like a good throw, but once again, 3 and out...
Update [2007-10-28 17:17:21 by River City Rage]: Mathis makes a huge play (going for the INT) that could have been a disaster. 3 and out, Jags ball!
Update [2007-10-28 17:12:36 by River City Rage]: Another short drive by the offense. Running game is getting bogged down just a little bit. I'd expect to see the Jags run a little more to the outside. Momentum has shifted a little bt here though, Tampa, despite being down by 7 have just scored, stuffed the offense, stopped the bleeding, and have great field position. Once again, the pressure is on the defense. SACK LUNCH by Stroud and Meier!
Update [2007-10-28 17:12:36 by River City Rage]: Garcia bounces right back and gets TD Pass to Galloway. Sammy Knight blew the coverage on that one. Jags still up, but need to keep up the pressure.
Update [2007-10-28 17:3:27 by River City Rage]: AARON GLENN WITH THE PICK SIX!!! Jeff Garcia's first interception goes for a TD!! That's the defense we need to see! And It's Glenn , making his first start with the team. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Jacksonville is imposing their will. What a play!
Update [2007-10-28 16:58:43 by River City Rage]: That looked like a fade route to the end zone, not a 3rd down conversion. Got 3 points out of it though, can't complain too much. Gray's short passes look bad. Like "should have been intercepted bad.
Update [2007-10-28 16:57:20 by River City Rage]: 3rd and 6, time for a statement. Make this conversion!
Update [2007-10-28 16:56:18 by River City Rage]: Greg Estandia with a huge 34 yard reception. Funny how that works, now back to the grind.
Update [2007-10-28 16:52:6 by River City Rage]: 3rd and 4, let's see a stop. And we did get the stop, but the receiver dropped it. Lucky break for the Jags. Time to bring back the Grind!!!
Update [2007-10-28 16:48:33 by River City Rage]: Jones-Drew can't catch passes 4 feet over his head, no matter how much he acts like Superman. 3 an out by the Jags. The good part of running the ball so much is that usually it gives your defense plenty of time to rest, especially when you've only got 3 defensive tackles active. The bad thing about running the ball is that you have to convert, otherwise you lose the time eating and defense resting benifits.
Update [2007-10-28 16:46:9 by River City Rage]: Jags force the 3 and out, 12 yard return by Northcut, run run run! Fred Taylor is only 94 yards away from 10k.
Update [2007-10-28 16:41:35 by River City Rage]: INTENTIONAL GROUNDING on Garcia. Nice pressure by the defense. 10 yards and loss of down, at the Bucs 15.
Ok, start of 2nd quarter.
What do we know? That Monte Kiffin has to be furious at the Bucs defense for allowing the Jaguars to run like that. They won't be so flexible next time, which means the passing game should open up. Scary thought though, relying on the pass.
It looks like offensively that they are passing toward Mathis, which is a bit of a challenge to his ability. I hope to see him burn Garcia with a pick-six.
That said, our Defense needs to do their part and stop these 3rd down conversions. Don't let Garcia get into sync with anyone...
