Jaguars v. Saints: First Quarter Live Blog!

Update [2007-11-4 13:47:59 by River City Rage]: What a first quarter. I'm very impressed with what I'm seeing out of the Jaguars offense. The defense is leaving me a little worried, but our offense is doing very well. Sweet Jesus, what a terrible job tackling TE Billy Miller. How do we miss three tackles? We're the Jaguars, we bring the Knock Knock! We don't miss tackles. Square up and wrap up. And then Reggie Bush runs for his 2nd TD of the game. And the 1st quarter is just about over...

Update [2007-11-4 13:42:45 by River City Rage]: 3rd and 3. Norman is replacing Naeole who has a "left knee sprain". Radio folks are giving the doom and gloom forecast. Incomplete Pass to Jones-Drew. 30 yard field goal attempt is GOOD!

Update [2007-11-4 13:38:49 by River City Rage]: Chris Naeole is down on the field with what looks like a left knee injury. Uh Oh. We don't need any changes on our o-line.

Update [2007-11-4 13:36:48 by River City Rage]: Big catch by Jones-Drew followed by a face mask. Nice Game. Reggie Bush and Jones-Drew had dinner together last night with RB Coach Kennedy Pola former USC Running back coach. I wish I could be a fly on the wall for that...

Update [2007-11-4 13:34:51 by River City Rage]: Deep pass attempt to John Broussard, almost intercepted. You'd think with two guys covering John so deep there would have been something open underneath.

Update [2007-11-4 13:32:15 by River City Rage]: 3 and out, Jags get the ball. Radio folk are saying that some Saints fans are taunting Stroud while he's on the bench. I hate to say it, but that's gonna be the norm for awhile.

Update [2007-11-4 13:29:9 by River City Rage]: John Henderson batted down a pass, good to see.

Update [2007-11-4 13:25:2 by River City Rage]: REGGIE WILLIAMS with the HUGE 80 yard pass. Saints completely blew the coverage. I bet the Saints diddn't expect to see that out of the Jaguars. On 3rd and 10 no less! That was Reggies longest catch in his career.

Update [2007-11-4 13:22:16 by River City Rage]: Wow, 8 min later we FINALLY get the ball. Good to see Jones-Drew returning kicks, that is when they don't roll out of the end zone.

Update [2007-11-4 13:19:11 by River City Rage]:Wow, 10-0 and we've not been on the field. Sean Payton is coming out swinging. This is where we see what we're made of...

Update [2007-11-4 13:16:51 by River City Rage]: 1st and Goal. Saints are trying to put the Jaguars into a hole in order to force Gray to throw the ball. I don't know if that's a great plan, considering how well we run, but it's certainly a concern right now. It seems like every game starts out with us getting big penetration by the other team, but we somehow hold them to a field goal. Hopefully that happens again.

Update [2007-11-4 13:11:53 by River City Rage]: Wow, Saints pulled an onside kick. Did it go far enough...yes. Damn. I guess they learned from our book. God, our kick coverage was completely unprepared. You'd think after the stunt we pulled against Houston they'd be prepared for that sort of thing. What an unpleasant way to start the game.

Update [2007-11-4 13:7:28 by River City Rage]: 4th down. Wow, that went from ugly defense to good defense pretty quick. They are attacking our secondary. Color me surprised...

Update [2007-11-4 13:5:54 by River City Rage]: Psst, Jack, you should tell Mike Smith to put the Defense on the field, I don't think they made it out of the Locker room yet? Oh, there's Sammy Knight with great pass defense!

Update [2007-11-4 13:3:9 by River City Rage]:Jags go on defense first. 30 yard return. Let's see if we can stifle this offense, shall we?

Here we go folks, just about time for Kickoff!
