With the 48th overall pick in the second round, the Jacksonville Jaguars have selected LB Justin Durant of Hampton. The second defensive pick the Jaguars have made, Durant's speed and athleticism will be a welcome addition to the linebacking corps in J-Town.
This, by the way, is Brian G from Buffalo Rumblings. RCR had to step out for a bit, so he asked me to announce the pick on his site. He will be back likely sometime at or before Round Three; he will provide full analysis on the Durant pick when he arrives.
As a Bills fan, I'll say that I had Durant highly rated. He is a superb athlete who will be a good fit in Jacksonville's fantastic defense. I think you guys are doing a great job in the draft so far - extra picks and great talent for your D!
Update [2007-4-28 21:55:21 by River City Rage]: Hey Guys, I'm back. Thanks to Brian G from Buffalo Rumblings for filling in while I had to...ahem...step out. I'm not super familiar with Durant, but I'm told he's an outstanding linebacker with great skills, albeit a bit short (like Ray Lewis perhaps). He looks to be the heir apparant to MLB Mike Peterson who, despite his skills, is getting long in the tooth and contract. It looks like another outstanding value based pick. Jacksonville is having one heck of a defensive draft!
