NFL Schedule out Tomorrow: Rejoice!

It's time for a yearly tradition for Jaguars fans, the yearly ritual when we get really excited about the prospects of a little national attention with the NFL Schedule.

Of course, it's always disappointing because we never seem to get the games we want, or get them more because of who we're playing rather than our own merits.

This year should be different, as we've established that the Jaguars put on a good show and are worth a few primetime spots.

Who do we play:

This we've known for awhile, but just in case you forgot...

  • Home: Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings
  • Away: Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions
Schedule Predictions:

Opening game: At Cincinnati. We've had home openers for awhile now, seems about right that we'd go on the road in week one.  Though, according to the preseason schedule, we're away at Washington the week before and the league won't typically have the team travel both weeks.  I'll stick by my hunch though.

Obvious Prime-time game: Home against Pittsburgh, how can they not after the two games we played.

Not-so Obvious Prime-time game: Home against Minnesota, more of a guess here.

Thanksgiving game: We play Detroit AT home, we could be the Turkey day game.  Which would be fun.

Monday Night Football: We'll get one, but I bet it's AT Indianapolis, which is no fun.

Remember, Sunday games are better than Monday ones, but there's no reason to feel slighted if we don't get all the good timeslots.  Coaches prefer consistency, so Sunday's at one are OK too.

I'm pretty excited to see us play the AFC North though, reminds me of those good ole AFC Central battles, especially with Pittsburgh.  I can't wait to beat them in Jacksonville!

What do you think?
