Former Jaguar receiver and first round bust, Reggie Williams, and special teamer Kennard Cox were signed by the Seattle Seahawks today. Cox's 2009 season was the butt of jokes in the Jaguar community due to an absolutely insane amount of transactions. Here's a rundown of the timeline of Kennard Cox's time with the Jaguars:

  • December 8, 2008: Cox joins the Jaguars after being signed off the Green Bay Packers practice squad. He played in the last 2 games, but didn't record any stats.
  • September 7, 2009: On the last day of cuts, Cox fails to make the 53 man roster, but manages to earn a spot on the Jacksonville practice squad.
  • September 15, 2009: After Reggie Hayward is placed on the injured reserve, Cox is signed to the active roster.
  • September 28, 2009: Kennard's time on the active roster ends as he is waived and placed on the practice squad again.
  • December 5, 2009: After spending over 2 months on the practice squad, Cox earns another chance at the active roster.
  • December 11, 2009: The Jaguars sign DE Chris Harrington off the Cardinals practice squad and waive Kennard Cox to make room for him. He is resigned to the practice squad shortly thereafter.
  • December 17, 2009: 6 days later FB Greg Jones is placed on the injured reserve and you-know-who is promoted to the active roster to fill his place.
  • December 19, 2009: 2 days later, Cox is waived.
  • December 22, 2009: After 3 days of unemployment, Kennard is resigned to the Jaguars practice squad.
  • January 2, 2010: Atiyyah Ellison is placed on the injured reserve and Cox is signed to the active roster.
When all was said and done, Cox played in 4 games and recorded 4 special teams tackles in 2009 after 13 different transactions. This is a guy that needs a break and I hope he finds that break in Seattle.
