Jaguars safety Anthony Smith misses practice, just kidding (updated)

According to Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union via Twitter, Jacksonville Jaguars strong safety Anthony Smith missed practice today. The official injury report hasn't been released yet, but typically if a player misses practice on a Friday they won't play on the following Sunday.

Anthony Smith wasn't practicing today. will be interesting to see who's back there at strong safety if he doesn't play.

Where does this leave the safety spot if Anthony Smith is out?

You'd think by default that back up safety Courtney Greenewould get the start at strong safety in Anthony Smith's absence, but again I feel like that leaves the Jaguars with a liability in coverage where controlling the middle of the field is key. San Diego's biggest weapon is Antonio Gates who makes his leaving on the seam, and Philip Rivers is deadly between the hashes passing the football.

Alternatively, I'd like to see the Jaguars shift Sean Considine from free to strong and give Tyron Brackenridgethe start. Considine has the ability to come up and support the run while Brackenridge improves your ability in coverage.

What I think they should do and what they will do is generally far apart, however.

What would you do?

UPDATE: Actually, Anthony Smith didn't miss practice, he was just limited according to Tania Ganguli.

Anthony Smith was actually limited, not out. He went out there without his helmet but ended up getting into some drills.
