The NFL and NFLPA have been going back and force over HGH testing in the NFL, and according to a report we could see it as early as next week. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello made the announcement on Twitter.
This is big news for the league, as it has been a stumbling block for a while that the NFLPA has adamantly opposed. HGH testing would require a blood test, and for ages the NFLPA and the players considered that an invasion of privacy. Representatives Darrell Issa (R-Cal.) and Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) announced the development today, after meeting with both sides.
This is a huge deal for the league and I wouldn't be shocked to see suspensions this season for failed tests. There are a lot of people out there who believe that in lieu of steroids, quite a few NFL players have been doping with HGH because there was no test for it.
