Jaguars WR Jarett Dillard Getting More Snaps

The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver position has been an area of concern and interest through the first six weeks of the 2011 NFL season. An interesting note from last Sunday's game in Pittsburgh, wide receiver Jarett Dillard got the most snaps of the season, equalling the number of snaps of wide receiver Jason Hill. In previous weeks, Dillard had played the role of token blocking receiver on obvious rushing downs, a role usually reserved for the injured Kassim Osgood. Dillard has always displayed excellent hands and a leaping ability, but he's just never been able to stay on the football field.

Against the Pittsburgh Steelers however, Dillard played 45 offensive snaps, the same amount of snaps as Jason Hill. Now, Hill was on the injury report with a thigh injury and was limited last Wednesday in practice, but went in full the rest of the week and started on Sunday. With the return of Mike Sims-Walker, I would imagine he would be heavy in the receiver rotation immediately, so someone is going to lose snaps. It will be interesting to see who's snaps get cut into between Hill and Dillard, considering Dillard's role has increased steadily game to game.
