Getting The Grip?

Blaine Gabbert was the 10th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft, drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars had the 16th pick of the draft, but they decided that they needed a higher pick to get what they wanted so they traded with the Redskins for the 10th pick of the draft. Gabbert would become back up for David Garrard and Luke McCown until Garrard was cut days before the season opener.

McCown would start for the first two games until they made the decision to start the rookie quarterback Gabbert for the rest of the 2011 season.

Gabbert is 2-6 on the season but last week he looked more like an NFL quarterback, throwing for almost a season high of 210 yards and finally connecting with his tight end Marcedes Lewis who finished with a season-high 64 receiving yards. Blaine looked more comfortable in the pocket last week and was able to get more done in the passing game. Even though the Jaguars didn't win the game I believe Gabbert gained some confidence and should have that with him this weekend and will get the passing game going at home against the Texans.
