As was first reported by Chris Mortensen of ESPN and reportedly confirmed by the Florida Times-Union's Tania Ganguli, the Jaguars have given a three year extension to Gene Smith to continue to be the general manager of the Jaguars.
There has been debate recently on BCC whether or not Smith deserved an extension as he turned down an offer from Wayne Weaver in the offseason and was largely responsible for the talent on the field, but Weaver has ultimately decided to let Smith continue to work on the roster that is largely his now.
