Jaguars Coaching Search: Bill Cowher Rumors Won't Come True, According To Source

New, comments

The Jacksonville Jaguars will soon begin their head coaching search and the list of candidates could go on for days. One candidate who is very popular amongst Jaguars fans is former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher. Cowher has been rumored to be in play for the Jaguars for years, with rumors of him purchasing a home in Ponte Vedra Beach for what seems like a few years. According to a source however, Bill Cowher isn't interested and quite enjoys his gig at CBS.

While money always talks, it would take an exorbitant amount to pull Cowher from his television gig and my source says it would have to be something in the $10 million a year range. While Khan can certainly pay that if he wishes and it would be a homerun swing, it's hard to see happening. Cowher was the head coach for the Steelers from 1992 to 2006 and had many great match ups with the Jaguars when the two teams were both in the AFC Central division. Cowher won the Super Bowl with the Steelers in 2005.
