Patrick Peterson is the Browns' pick with 57% of the run-off vote.
1. Carolina Panthers - Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn
2. Denver Broncos - Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson
3. Buffalo Bills - Marcell Dareus, DE/DT, Alabama
4. Cincinnati Bengals - A. J. Green, WR, Georgia
5. Arizona Cardinals - Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri
6. Cleveland Browns - Patrick Peterson, DB, LSU
7. San Francisco 49ers - ?????
QB: Awful. Alex Smith is a huge bust, David Carr is a backup at best, and Troy Smith sucks.
RB: Solid. Frank Gore is a horse when healthy, though he wasn't at the end of last year. They like Anthony Dixon as a backup/goal line back.
WR: Meh. Crabtree is okay, but not great; he struggles with drops sometimes. Their other receivers are underwhelming.
TE: Very good. Vernon Davis learned how to block last year, and is already a very good receiver.
OL: Decent. Iupati was awesome last year, but the rest are either getting old (Heitmann, Baas) or just aren't that great (Staley, Anthony Davis). They could use a lineman, but it's not a huge need.
DL: Solid. If they bring back Aubrayo Franklin, they have a very solid 3-4 front with Franklin, Isaac Sopoaga, and Justin Smith.
LB: Needs help. Patrick Willis is amazing, but besides him they have very little. Manny Lawson is a free agent, Parys Haralson is average at best, and Ahmad Brooks is okay as a situational guy but that's about it. On the inside, Takeo Spikes was decent but he's getting up there in years. This is a definite need.
DB: Oof. Nate Clements was awful last year, and has an albatross contract. Dashon Goldson was the best safety, and he's not even that good and is hitting free agency this year. Taylor Mays sucks in coverage. Secondary is also a definite need.
The rules:
The voting will be open for somewhere in the neighborhood of two or three days per pick. If it's obvious which player has been voted for the pick I'll close the voting and open the next one. Vote for the player YOU THINK THE TEAM WILL PICK, not who YOU would pick if you were the GM. The point of this is to have what BCC feels is an accurate representation of the picks leading up to Jacksonville's pick at 16. If we go fairly quickly, we can continue on and try to get to the Jaguars' second-round pick before the actual draft.
You will have at least seven choices to vote for per pick. If you would like to vote for a player who isn't listed, post "Write-in vote for ___________". If the player you want to write in is already posted, please rec that post.
If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them in the thread. Vote away!
