Ricky Stanzi 2011 NFL Draft Profile

Alfie's Player Ranking 78 out of 100
Projected Round: 3-5

Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 78th ranked player, Iowa quarterback Ricky Stanzi.

Height: 6-4
Weight: 221lbs

PROS: Good enough arm to make all of the NFL throws. Showed improvement each season he played with a big upswing his senior season. Natural leader in the huddle who had a knack for winning ball games late. Picks up offenses quickly and goes through his reads well. Throws a very catchable football and a nice deep ball. Played in a pro-style offense his whole career. Great size for the NFL.

CONS: Footwork in his drop back is inconsistent. Prior to his senior year had a tendancy to turn the ball over early in games, but he would recover. Doesn’t always set his feet when he throws. Average throwing on the run, won’t do much with his feet when a play breaks down. Some question how much better he can get and if he's already "maxed out".
