Brooks Reed 2011 NFL Draft Profile

Alfie's Player Ranking 99 out of 100
Projected Round: 2-3

Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 99th ranked player, Arizona Wildcat defensive end Brooks Reed.

Height: 6-2

Weight: 257lbs

PROS: Excellent pass rusher off the edge. More athletic than most people give him credit for. Created a buzz at the Senior Bowl and generated a lot of interest from 3-4 teams. Has a repertoire of pass rush moves, can bull rush and swim and spin. Good tackler with a good motor and works hard. No character concerns at all. Aggressive and competitive player. Has garned the "poor man's Clay Matthews" tag because of his style of play and long hair.

CONS: First step isn't very good. Will need to stand up in the NFL and has never played linebacker before. Can be controlled in the running game by bigger offensive lineman. Will need to work on dropping back into coverage. Can lose contain on draw plays and some play fakes.
