Alfie's Player Ranking 63 out of 100
Projected Round: 2-3
Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 63rd ranked player, Troy wide receiver Jerrel Jernigan.
Height: 5-9
Weight: 190lbs
PROS: Good bulk for an NFL receiver. Fantastic top end speed. Catches the ball with his hands and will pluck it out of the air without breaking stride. Hard worker who can also help out returning kicks. Great acceleration and dangerous with the ball in his hand, will make people miss. Played quarterback in highschool and understands how to read coverages and find the holes.
CONS: Lacks ideal height at the position, but his size overall is acceptable. Despite his speed doesn’t make plays down the field, more of a yards after catch receiver. Doesn’t offer much blocking wise and can get jammed at the line by bigger defensive backs rather easily.
