Marcedes Lewis was designated the Jaguars' franchise player today. This is largely because today is the last day that teams can designate a franchise player. This doesn't come as much of a surprise, as the Jaguars said they would tag Marcedes if the two sides couldn't work out a contract by today. The Jaguars and Lewis will continue in contract discussions up until the current CBA ends on March 3rd. Both sides remain hopeful that a deal can get done before March 3rd that can please everyone.
