DeAndre McDaniel 2011 NFL Draft Profile

Alfie's Player Ranking 55 out of 100
Projected Round: 3

Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 55th ranked player, Clemson safety DeAndre McDaniel.

Height: 6-0

Weight: 212lbs

PROS: Excellent size for the safety position in the NFL. Great production while at Clemson. Gets off his blocks well and is an asset in the running game. Shows good recovery speed when beaten and can usually make a play on the football. Has nice ball skills and can play a bit of centerfield. Plays with high intensity and can deliver a crushing hit on receivers.

CONS: Has some off the field issues, arrested for assault in 2008. Can get caught peeking in the backfield when playing deep in a zone. Struggles when matched up man to man, much better in a zone. Played linebacker before moving to safety his final two seasons.
