Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 54th ranked player, Villanova offensive lineman Ben Ijalana.
Height: 6-3
Weight: 320lbs
PROS: Good size and long arms. Relatively good athlete for his size. Excellent run blocker who moves guys off the football and does a good job pulling and getting to the second level. Good anchor and does a nice job in the passing game. Might be athletic enough to kick outside and play offensive tackle.
CONS: Level of competition makes total evaluation tough. Doesn’t bend his knees well. More of a finesse blocker than physical and lacks the mean streak teams look for in offensive lineman. Will draw concerns at tackle because he struggles with speed edge rushers.
