According to Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union's twitter feed, the Jacksonville Jaguars have released Jordan Black and signed offensive lineman Bradley Vierling to a 2011 contract. With right tackle Jordan Black now gone, we will no longer be soothed by the sweet sweet sound of "number 78 now reporting eligible" over the PA system at EverBank field. Black started the majority of the season for the Jaguars at right tackle after starter Eben Britton went down with a shoulder injury that required surgery. Black started 9 games for the Jaguars in 2010, but his real value was as an emergency back up or tackle eligible on running plays. Black was routinely beaten by opposing defensive ends in 2010 and was even benched at one point for Guy Whimper.
Bradley Vierling is an undrafted rookie out of Vanderbilt who spent the season on the Jaguars practice squad.
