Alfie's Player Ranking out of 100
Projected Round: 1

Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 8th ranked player, Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller.

Height: 6-3

Weight: 245

PROS: Extremely effective and disruptive pass rusher. Has experience playing as a rush linebacker, which will be his position in the NFL on a 3-4 football team. Had extremely high production the past two seasons at rush backer. Has a high motor and is asked to blitz often from multiple angles. Has a knack for big hits on the quarterback and is form tackler who doesn’t often miss. While his fit is ideal in a 3-4 scheme, many scouts feel he can play in a 4-3 scheme.

CONS: Can get washed out in his blitzes and forced wide out of the play. Can get stuck when blitzing inside due to a lack of upper body strength. Is a liability when dropping back into coverage. Will take some time to develop into an every down linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. Gets caught out of position often in the running game, especially on draws or misdirection. His explosiveness is a detriment on misdirection plays as he can over commit.
