2011 NFL Draft Profile: Ryan Mallett

Alfie's Player Ranking 48 out of 100
Projected Round: 1-3

Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 48th ranked player, Arkansas Ryan Mallett.

Height: 6-7

Weight: 253lbs

PROS: Big time arm. Can make all of the NFL throws with is. Throws an excellent deep ball. Very productive in Bobby Petrino’s offensive system. Puts good zip on the football. Tall, excellent size for the NFL game.

CONS: Despite a high completion percentage his accuracy is spotty. More accurate deeper down the football field than under 15 yards. Tends to throw the ball too hard on the shorter routes. Poor footwork. Doesn’t step up well in the pocket and if defenders get at his legs his accuracy is completely gone. Has some off the field and attitude issues teams will need to check out. Played in a system that produced quite a few NFL failures.
